Gawd, it's always two steps forward, three steps back with these people.

  • Uh has anybody thought of ID checks on age? Like for alcohol and cigarettes? But this would require an enforcement of the rules by the police so an outright ban is WAY WAY easier.   Meanwhil

Anutin is a Little Lord Fauntleroy who fancied himself as an enlightened visionary à la Guatemala's president deciding to adopt Bitcoin as the national currency. (How's that working out?)

Cannabis decriminalization was cynically marketed to the masses as a boost to the agricultural and tourism sectors as a populist cornerstone of his failed bid to become Thailand's next prime minister.  This so-called health minister blithely ignored the impact this would have on Thailand's health, educational and youth development, and road safety, as well as its debasing effect on Thailand's core cultural values. Cannabis tourism especially is an abomination which cannot be eradicated soon enough, and if there are those who still see it as a wonderful blessing, I say, feel free to go back to your home country and smoke all the weed you want.

The botched rollout of decriminalization and the clarion call to pot head tourists around the world to come to Thailand to get high will forever rank as one of the all time most poorly thought out and badly executed public policy decisions ever made, and should forever disqualify Anutin from ever becoming Prime Minister.

Thank God, the Thai people had the good sense to not elect him to that position, and thank God the newly formed government is taking steps to correct this egregious error in judgement.

Very little cannabis tourism, lots of sex tourism though, which goes much more against so-called Thai cultural values.

The world-wide trend is towards legalization, so really no clarion call whatsoever needed.

Thank God that stick in the mud people like you are in the minority.

May I suggest a move to Afghanistan or Iran. No clarion calls there.

You're gaslighting.  It's not harmless.  It may be harmless to you but it's not harmless to anyone with a predisposition to mental illness.

Taking too many deep breaths can be harmful to someone with mental illness. People with mental illness should be treated, not change society to fit them.

And you consider drug addled youngsters a step forward. Gawd

Do you REALLY think these kids give two sh ï ts whether or not it's legal? Kids gonna do what kids gonna do. These laws only hurt the small business owners, the general population/tourists, and the delicate, fragile sensibilities of those who don't like pot being legal. Gawd!

3.3.1.2 Studies that show culpability

Several studies have found that cannabis users are more likely to be responsible for crashes (OR 1.7).8082 Crouch found that marijuana use contributed to the demise of 168 fatally-injured truckers in all cases in which the serum concentration of THC exceeded 1 ng/mL.83 Terhune’s study of 497 road traffic accidents found that cannabis users had a responsibility rate of 76% versus 42.5% for the control group.

Deflection

Asinine counter-arguments. Monkeys. Jabbering monkeys. Jabbering stoned monkeys. The whole lot of you. The disparagement of Thai culture by the proponents of cannabis legalization only bolsters my arguments. I'll tell you this: one thing that I've become increasingly convinced of reading these cannabis threads is that weed damages reasoning and debate skills.

In my country, police can check drivers for cannabis presence in the blood stream.

If test positive, you are arrested, taken to the police station for a blood test, if over their guidelines, you are prosecuted, the same as a drunk driver.

The Government has obviously put a lot of money and research to come to the conclusion and implement their course of action.

Yet clowns on here think they know best from their barstools and Rizlers..................:cowboy:..................????

So, after the unemploymemt caused by COVID, people found a way to make money using a natural plant that is not addictive. Clearly, there are drug lords who are very happy to hear they can control cannabis once again. I just wonder what the government will do to increase employment.

Taken from that article you posted:

38 Experienced smokers who drive on a set course show almost no functional impairment under the influence of marijuana, except when it is combined with alcohol.

That's why it's called Dope.

But it's our decision whether to be a dope or not, it's a shame when govt takes away our right to choose.

Yes, so it says both good and bad.

No, not yet.

You accused me of deflection, and I accused you of the same. Is that strange? Are you drinking already?

He might be one of those serious junkies that inject marijuana! ????

Guessing there's not going to be a release of the no-doubt world-class high-integrity statistical survey and study that came to these conclusions. After all, when it is described in such amorphous terms as "Medical professionals...have noticed a rise in health issues, particularly among children, resulting from recreational cannabis use, reported Bangkok Post." That's about as meaningless as could be.

Meanwhile I am sure yaba dealers are checking the ages of the patrons they sell to - at prices A LOT LOWER than ganja is selling for.

This is serious, my son told me his school has a 10.000 Bht fine for smoking dope if caught at school, yesterday he told me that kids are smoking weed in the toilets, and threatened him with a beating if he ratted on them. I told him don't rat, don't talk to them, just do your business and leave, be nice and walk away from them.

Kids as young as 8 smoking Bongs in the streets of Chon Buri, I saw this coming as did many, and children are now doped up and it's going to get worse.

It's not a narcotic. Never was, isn't now and never will be. It is only deemed so by legal misclassification.
