Im disappointed

Featured Replies

After learning deceased members social media profiles with pictures being linked to their knick name here at AseanNow, and still have is disappointing.

Disappointed of members who post such info.

Any others who feel the same? Any good reasons your knick name should be linked to your real name and social media?

Delete social media

There are some people who lack social decorum and just do things without thinking about what they are doing and the consequences .

They live a "do anything you like" existence and "who cares"

what's your ID line?????

That is their own mistake, if they not told others about it, or told only those would would not rat them out, nobody knows. I'm not even using social media except of LINE / chat options only.

So ignore it, do not subscribe or register, or go online.

Do you know the wishes of the deceased family? Or any of the discussions he had with his friends about the matter? It’s really not the business of strangers of what the family of a deceased chooses how to notify friends.

When you are dead it doesnt matter does it? Unless there is some bad thing written that upsets a family member

Have you ever read obituaries in a newspaper? Obituaries are common. Get over it already.

Not being funny but I don't understand what you mean at all. Can you explain?

Someone is confused. So am I by their emoji. Come on and tell us all why you are confused, be a man about it, instead of a keyboard plonker

No one on this site knows me so no risk of nothing. If you knew a lot of people on this site and socialised and people had respectful information and photos then it's not such a bad thing. I take your point but in many cases it is not much of a secret. You could tell anyone on this site you know that if the worst happens don't identify who you are.

Those who do spend their time searching online for personal member info, then posting it on here, are tools, shed dwellers. ????

I have known a few over the years, thankfully they are no longer with us, but I suspect some are reincarnated here, because they just can't stop their sh_t.............????

The whole point with an anonymous forum, is to stay anonymous even you might get in contact with a few members, or you write something personal a few could reckonize who you are.

Still you expect to be respected and not blast your real id even you are dead.

There have been many debates past the years Im sure you would not let your family read, even the context and nature of the forum is what it is.

They are public, usually done by family, this is an anonymous forum, we are meant to be anonymous unless we consent not to be anonymous.  ????

Kwasaki died in a motorbike accident a few days ago, and one member posted a pic and his Facebook page in his memorial tread, pluss several social media posts. Thats what it is about.

I still believe his fb page is present in the tread.

Again, do you personally know the wishes of the family of the deceased? If not then it’s really none of your business how the matter is handled. Again…get over it already and find something else to complain about.

Yes, Good point .

Imagine your family doing a websearch on your real name and then finding your ASEANNOW profile through that search and then being able to read all your posts , all the posts you've ever done

I despise my former Brit family, don't really care what they think about me, may they all rot in hell!

Anyone here can act on behalf  of the deceased? With full rights to inform the forum of your id?

Have you given such permission?

This thread isn't about you though and the whole world doesn't revolve around you are your experiences .

There are quite a few posters who would want to keep their ASEANNOW life/posts away from family members

Yes, if you state that people claimed to be moderators on other sites , that personal info does get removed , as you well know

I agree, the purpose of an anonymous forum is to say what you think freely without direct personal consequences.

Then it's up to you not to reveal who you are after an evening with too much beer

Sorry, don't understand that, try again....????
