Rampant Street Racing Alarms Pattaya Residents

In the center, it seems to be more of the young punk middle east kids. Surprised there are not more accidents as they seem very inexperienced and lack proper control of their bikes.

Maybe open up BIRA at night so they can use a real race track?

No thrill for them to do it legally! Little boys displaying their manhood!

This is what happens when there is next to zero enforcement of laws. Until everyone is led to believe that there are actually consequences for their actions it will continue.

Aren't the police supposed to do something to stop this?

Should be fairly easy even for the RTP, set up a few roadblocks and seize the bikes? Or is too much like hard work, or perhaps there's no money in it, who knows?

Water cannons shooting indelible blue ink.  Then arrest everyone that shows up in class the next day looking like a Smurf.

Maybe you’d add the odd minefield and machine gun nest too?

Nah.  I'm just sticking to tried and proven methods.  They've already used the blue water cannons on protestors.  Nobody seemed the worse for wear.

They probably still have the equipment sitting idle, primed and ready for the next protest.  That'll save them money over mines and bullets.

Local authorities, despite their efforts, grapple with this escalating menace.

I can't imagine a Thai cop bothering to do anything (regarding enforcement) physical after the sun sets if it doesn't include a bribe.

Why are they alarmed, they should be well used to it at this stage.

Hwy 36 is clear enough to be a racetrack in the wee hours.. that is surprising, can't get on the damned road at 5.30pm, it is so busy!

I guess the locals have gotta put some earplugs in before they go to bed.

I guess it was all happening down at the South-East end near the Pong Interchange, as I heard nothing at my end of 36.

Is it arabs or locals causing it?
