Viral video: Taxi driver’s ‘you’re too fat’ confrontation leaves passenger speechless

A video of a taxi driver verbally confronting a passenger has gone viral, sparking widespread criticism and discussion online. The driver claimed he was afraid the shock absorbers would break due to the passenger’s weight, leading to an intense taxi confrontation exchange that left the passenger feeling insulted and upset.

The taxi confrontation video clip begins with the passenger asking why the driver didn’t express his concerns about the passenger’s weight from the beginning, thus avoiding the uncomfortable situation.

The passenger expressed hurt feelings, stating that he had never encountered such an issue in his previous taxi rides, and suggested he would disembark if the driver was uncomfortable.

The taxi driver, however, insisted on his standpoint, stating his fear about the shock absorbers and demanding fare payment if the passenger chose to leave the taxi.

The passenger should report the taxi as unsafe to the authorities. If the car is unable to support maybe 200kg then the registration should be removed.

In the taxi drivers defense (not that he has any) the car does seem to be leaning heavily over to the left in the video.????

I'm fat, not obese but fat. My sympathies are with the driver and his shock absorbers which are costly to replace (unless you steal them, but that would be illegal). Fat people should be called out and shamed for their fatness. People with phone cameras should take photos and put them on social media every time they see a fat person eating something. Just a personal opinion, nothing insulting intended.

Yes, three 50 kg dollies on the back seat, and one in the front would be the same.

He probably already new the shocks were shot because he’s probably never done any maintenance and servicing throughout the poor cars life

Not sure that overweight or fat people should be called out. It seems however that the truth was told.

Sorry to correct you but shock absorbers do not support the load in a vehicle, the springs do. Shocks are dampers that slow down bounce. And if the driver thought that the passenger weight and his own exceeded the safe working load of the vehicle he should have said so before accepting the passenger. Sounds to me more likely a new form of fare scamming.

So, if four 40kg girls got in his taxi, 3 in the back, one in the front, it would be ok on the shock absorbers??? ????

It's the camera that's at an angle, not the car. (unless the road and all the vehicles on it are leaning to the left as well).

Well said Chunky.

Yes over weight people seem to be getting more in the news lately

reminds me of a Gulf air flight I was on coming to Bangkok heard all this noise a woman complaining about a obese Arab encroaching in her seat

In the end they asked a business seat passenger to swap seats with the obese guy

On my return flight back to the Gulf who walks down the aisle a sigh of relief when he passed my row of seats ????

If he felt that the passenger was too big, why did the simpleton pick him up to begin with? And if you start insulting your passengers, perhaps you should not expect to be paid?

Obviously it would not be the same. He wouldn't complain. ????

I've experienced a personal reference too. The driver insisted I sit in the front with him because " I'm too sexy for my shirt,so sexy it hurts ” according to him . Think his name was Fred according to taxi iD...

ahhh these Thai taxi drivers eh.

never put a foot wrong do they!

I hope the start fare remains at 35 baht for the next 50 years.
