Deputy National Police Chief Surachet Hakpal, popularly known as "Big Joke," made an unexpected move by refusing to grant an interview to the media.

This was unusual as Surachet has never shied away from media interactions. His silence has added an air of mystery, particularly as the media attempted to glean insights on his role and feelings about ongoing cases, and the so-called "Big Surprise" slated for October 5.

Earlier in the day, Surachet had returned to the National Police Office following a three-day absence, from September 27-29, during which he participated in religious ceremonies, reported Siam Rath.

His return and subsequent silence have raised eyebrows, eliciting speculations and expectations. When prompted, Surachet simply responded, "I am waiting for the Police Chief's assignment.

There are no special meetings today; I'm not under pressure or stressed. As for the 'Big Surprise' on October 5, I have no knowledge." He then promptly left the premises.

National Police Office spokesperson, Achanai Kraitong, remained equally cryptic. He disclosed that the media’s anticipation of the incoming Police Chief, Torsak Sukvimol, was still uncertain.

Discussions about policy mandates, division of duties amongst deputy chiefs, and consultations with related sectors were ongoing. Clarity was expected soon.

As for Deputy National Police Chief Surachet Hakpal, his visit to the National Police Office today was merely a routine duty. However, he himself is still unaware of which other deputy chiefs are on duty.

The reporters should check their previous stories.

BJ's lawyer has ordered him not to speak about the subject.

He's flipped the script back onto Big Tor.

Now the new National Police Chief Torsak needs to figure out what to do with Big Joke? Sideline/investigate? Cover-up, Exonerate and give him a plum assignment (although he was already Deputy National Police Chief, with a broad and enviable portfolio, allowing him to dabble).

I assume the latter given Big Joke's threat to reveal information about the RTP which would cause it to crumble.

There is another tried and trusted method used by RTP recently.

He should sent Big Joke to do a Phd abroad like Thaksin did while in the police and don't let him com home until he has finished it.  He would already be retired before got anywhere close.
