UPDATE: A Thai policeman has apprehended the alleged gunman at Siam Paragon Mall in Bangkok. The man on the floor with his hands in cuffs is wearing the same combat trousers as an earlier photo of a man with a gun.

A large pane of glass behind is smashed and it is still not clear whether there are any injuries or fatalities.

The suspect arrested in connection with a shooting spree that killed at least three persons and injured four others at Siam Paragon, Thailand’s biggest shopping mall in central Bangkok, this afternoon, is a 14-year-old boy, according to police.

The arrest was made about an hour after a gunman started shooting with a pistol at around 4 pm, sending hundreds of shoppers rushing toward the exits.

The gunman, wearing a cap and dressed in black, was reported to be armed with a 9mm pistol. Witnesses said the gunman shot at random.

The security screenings at all entrances were not working!

Useless procedure when security is not following protocol and act by any sounds.

All the big malls have metal detectors but they removed them a couple or so years ago.
