Good to see they are being proactive.

But, could you imagine the uproar and lawsuits in the west especially in the U.S. if the cops did this? No way they could get away with it.

 Further:

- Have all the TV aound the table been charged previously with theft or similar?

- How many more exist and are regularly actively involved with theft, harrassment of folks on Beach Road (or any road), but didn't get an invite.

Seems to me this 'event' lacks credibility for many reasons.

Pattaya police concerned over negative image!  A fine sense of irony.

If they are so concerned why have they not taken serious decicive action, years ago, to stop this activity by imposing very high fines, jail sentences, confiscation of property suspected of being obtained by less than ethical means, etc

Steep enough that it really frightens them off.

Oh yeah, now Thailand will be safe again. Great Job royal thai police. We are so happy that you are taking care on the country's worst and most important problems. You are our heroes. You make Thailand great again.

Yes because in most cases that is wanted. Most guys however don't like being grabbed by other guys even if they are wearing a wig and a dress

Indeed - even when I'm wearing a wig and dress myself! 😡

Just another news story like reporting about weather or traffic accident here.

But try imagine news story like this in any other city than Pattaya on the planet and the shock, shame and disgust of the comments it would get there...

It's not good to see... police violating the rights of citizens by detaining them without charge due to profiling. I'm sure it's against the law in Thailand too, but they don't expect any of them to contact their lawyers.

How longhave you been in Thailand? The fines are derisory (or non-existent) because an ability to actually pay the fine has to be taken into consideration. Hence the paltry and monthly splurges fining people for not wearing a helmet - it has to be affordable and of an amount that isn't going to create another problem. Most Thais dont have "disposable" income and either cant pay or simply wont.

How much do you think these ladyboys earn?
