100 year old Buddha statue unearthed from mango tree in Chon Buri

If the Buddha figure was within the tree trunk, it wasn't "unearthed".  Untrunked, or unboled possibly.  Definitely not "unearthed".

When I first read it, I thought they had dug it up under a mango tree, not inside the tree.

I bet the abbot is concerned after his instructions to murder the holy Buddha tree.

Its the Bodhi tree (Ficus religiosa) not a mango tree (Mangnifera indica)

Buddha was making a trunk call to another temple branch. Forgot to leaf the door open and got trapped. Took a hundred years for people to twig it and find him.

In the process of cutting down the approximately 80 centimetres wide and 10 metre tall mango tree, the tree fell, and as it was being sawed into pieces, the workmen discovered a green Buddha statue nestled within the trunk. The smiling statue was promptly removed and is now being venerated at the temple.

A buddhist abbot orders an old and tall tree to be cut down ... he should have shown a little empathy to such an old tree and let it live .

Buddhism is not teaching this .

Buddhist monks are not all followers of the teachings of Buddha .

Respect of life in all it's forms .

No destruction or killing .
