I very much doubt Pheu Thai will get voted in next time, given their track record of betraying the electorate.  The latest betrayal is deferring paying the 10,000 vote buying bribe until September next year (at the earliest), and not paying it to all Thai adults as promised.

Part of the problem is that they had no idea how much money was available nor how much debt has to be repaid and when, as the previous government made it classified and secret.

As for not paying every Thai over 16, why would you give it to a multi billionaire who probably makes more than that per day in interest alone, compared to a jobless Thai with a family to support .

What should happen is that every Thai taxpayer earning over, for example, 100,000 per month should be excluded and their share either put back in the pot and shared with non tax payers, or put back in the pot so that less money needs to be borrowed.

I'll second that, brilliant idea

Apart from bringing some reminiscent tears of joy to die hard red shirt devotees it is more likely that the majority of Thai will await any indication of further, greater populist cash payouts as the  antidote to the social cultural infection of systemic corruption that survives the placebo of false democratic "elections".

If not forthcoming then to accept the adamant promises that next time electoral outcomes will be different .

No surprise  if it is not. No different to most established "democratic" elections that are a simple choice between liar/thieves  or thieves/liars .

She would have to win an election first, and that doesn't look likely.

MFP is very likely to crush all of the parties during the next election cycle. It is high time Tony and his family go away. All they did was enrich and empower themselves, why would we want more of this?
