Barking mad isn't it. In my local Lotus'ssssssss there is a sign on the alcohol section that outside the hours of 11 to 2 you cannot buy a case of beer. You CAN however buy beer as long as it exceeds 10 litres....work that one out. Also, there is a warehouse shop called The One in town where you can buy any type of alcohol in any amount, at any time, and they open at 8 in the morning......

Find a wholesale shop if thirsty 2-5pm. Never again need 7/12, Makro, retail etc.

Buy a pack, heaps cheaper.

Plenty in the cities  towns & villages. 🙃🙃

The bars staying open until 0400hrs who are the tourists they are hoping  to attract 

guys like myself in the 80s - 90s  working in the Middle East 

Not to many around  these days 

Most families  will be in  bed

Same  as the old ex-pats 

Plus people will go out later in the evening  but to sit in a bar until 0400hrs 😱

The police and the brown evelope will become less now to bar owners.At the moment in cnx the police are forcing bars to close at midnight because they know in the new year the rules are changing But it is a good thing that the opening hrs will increase for the bar owners and the people who work in them.If the bar is quite then they will close early so not all bars will remain open

Selling alcohol outside of an arbitrary time period that even if enforced does not actually prevent people from drinking at those times if they have stocked up prior is not really equivalent to murder now is it?

 

Stupid and pointless laws are broken every single day by vast numbers of people and if they are not enforced, they should not really be laws.  The drinking between 2-5pm is a fine example of a pointless, unenforced law that should be taken off the books so that those that do have to abide by this stupid law are not penalised for doing so.

In another bizarre turnaround by the government, Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said allowing pubs, bars, and clubs to remain open until 4 a.m. does not necessarily mean an extension of drinking hours.

 

He explained that extending the opening hours without extending the drinking hours would enable people to sit and socialize for a longer duration.

 

Anutin also said non-alcoholic beverages can still be served, and other services will remain operational for extended periods, potentially leading to the creation of more job opportunities.

Chinese won't be in night clubs, only drunks, and undesirables, Chinese will be in casino's when they build them. Nieghborhood  shop bar's usually close early, but there's a few converted houses that won't be popular with happy birthdays blasting out at 4am. 7 days a week.

Bar girls will need to take something to keep them awake, dope shops, casino's open all hour's, what a circus. There is no vision, but some will make money from it, expect to find more people waking up robbed with no memory of how it happened.

Bar owners reaction so far, hasn't been overly positive.

 

Bar staff has not been promised increase in salary for extended working hours.

 

Single tourists had their fill long before 2am, usually midnight, and priority #1 is to go home for boom-boom.

 

This will not create more income for business owners, or the country. Just another dream.

 

However, the many negative effects will soon hit the news, frequently.

Ive a wholesaler 500m from home, they open 6am.... and deliver.
