Thalang – Police were working on tracking down a thief after they stole from a tourist who was swimming at a beach in Sakoo.

The Sakoo Police told the Phuket Express that on Monday afternoon (December 11th) they were notified that a thief stole a bag of valuables from an unidentified male foreign tourist at the Nai Yan Beach while he went swimming in the sea. After the tourist came up from the water, his bag had disappeared. Inside his bag was a mobile phone, cash, and his passport.

The tourist traced his mobile phone from a GPS application using a computer and he found that his mobile phone’s location was heading to the Tha Chatchai area. He immediately contacted law enforcement for assistance.

Nai Yan Beach is literally the beach just west of the Phuket airport.

So he got away,  RTP at their finest, they only got back his passport, or so they say,  no money or phone. :cheesy:
