Until now nobody got in and killed him. There must be some security.

I'm guessing pat-downs, wands and a person with a broom to shoo away those pesky drone cameras.

Nary a single internal image from his stay

Wondering what will happen when Thaksin is eventually released. Could he be the center of political storms or accepted as a kingmaker?

Haha, might have to sneak him back in before they take him out!

He needs Uncle P's cardboard stand-up sign guy, a few of those bad boys strategically placed and they can have "sightings".

Chaichana said any army barracks usually have many bunks, ample living quarters and a wide, open area in which the 74-year-old Thaksin could exercise daily or even undergo a basic training course like soldiers.

Was he sentenced to this ...?

I think he was sentenced to prison ?

He will be at his home by february .

tight security - so no one could get too close to ask any embarrassing questions.

Basically will be a step up (possibly a very big step up) from where he is now. Army has probably been directed to find a place with a swimming pool "to aid in his rehabilition".
