Corrections Dept Told To Transfer Thaksin From Police Hospital To Army Barracks

THE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT was today (Dec.13) suggested to transfer de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large Thaksin Shinawatra from Police Hospital to army barracks.

 

House Committee on Police Affairs chair Chaichana Dejdecho advised the Corrections Department to find army barracks somewhere to detain Thaksin in lieu of Police Hospital, given a recently-issued regulation of the agency to “detain” convicts outside of a prison.

 

Thaksin who is largely believed to have more or less recovered from secrecy-shrouded “illnesses” has been staying in a tight-security, private ward at Police Hospital for nearly four months now.

 

According to the House committee chair, who is concurrently a Democrat MP, the department would be accused of applying double standards if Thaksin was allowed to stay at a private living quarters in lieu of Bangkok Remand Prison where he had been earlier destined upon his return from self-exile overseas on Aug.22.

 

Chaichana said any army barracks usually have many bunks, ample living quarters and a wide, open area in which the 74-year-old Thaksin could exercise daily or even undergo a basic training course like soldiers.

Shorten the rope, fascinating watching them hang themselves in public view!! Wake up average man, you are being walked on! But then again, watching that is just as entertaining!

I'm ambivalent about the guy myself, having started working in Thailand after his tenure in power. 

 

But spending a few extra baht to make sure he doesn't get (for example) knifed in the shower is probably worth it, just to prevent the mayhem if that were to happen.

I have to agree with you. But it would be better if they were more honest about it instead of all the game playing. At present, this charade is not fooling anybody.

Why do you think there is this talk about his daughter becoming the new PM? Because she is so much better qualified than all the other politicians?

I think he was sentenced to prison ?

He will be at his home by february .

Indeed, I believe that they have some rather comfortable houses, in which ex premiers can live a comfortable retirement, with appropriate domestic help and security provided!

 

And making a 74 year old do basic training with soldiers, well, talk about moving from the sublime to the ridiculous!

Basically will be a step up (possibly a very big step up) from where he is now. Army has probably been directed to find a place with a swimming pool "to aid in his rehabilition".
