Experienced traveler I guess :passifier:

Indeed few hotels have rooms available tonight.

Some mates had to change hotel in November because it was booked for the fireworks festival.

From a typical "1000 Baht" hotel off Soi Buakhao:

And I just read on FB of  group that had booked a room to turn up and find it was a scam....it is called the silly season, but after Covid, it is better named the greedy season as it was before. There will be an attitude lasting for a month or two more !

Someone may booked his room online and therefore he would have to leave

And yes, there is that.

A well known Pattaya vlogger stated that some hotels have "messed up" with bookings from Agoda resulting in double bookings that had to be cancelled.

True or not who knows.

It's normal they, hotels & condos, charge premium when they can.

I had "as new" condo for 700B/night. The owner asked if I could find an other place for 4-6 nights so he can cash in during New Year. He had some free spending Russians coming in town.

He's a cool guy so I said "Yes, I can". In return I get to stay 500B a night starting in February. It was win-win for both.

I had a pal who would move out of his condo for peak season and rent it out, go live in a cheap hotel. He rented it  himself so was sub-letting.
