See, there was something I think could have been negotiated, to be honest with you,” Trump said at a campaign event in Newton, Iowa. “I think you could have negotiated that. All the people died. So many people died.” The former president’s comments come a little over a week before the first-in-the-nation caucuses in Iowa, where he has a significant lead in the polls over his closest rivals, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. The Civil War has emerged as unlikely talking point on the GOP primary trail. More than a week before Trump’s comments, Haley answered a question about the cause of the Civil War without mentioning slavery – the driving force behind the war. She has since backtracked, repeatedly saying she thought the fact went without saying. Trump’s remarks were not made in response or reference to Haley’s. Even in 5th grade we had heard of and knew of "the Missouri compromise" and other attempts to "negotiate" a way to avoid the civil war. And Trump supposedly went to an Ivy League school. He borrowed his Big Lie regarding the 2020 election directly from the Nazi Germany play book, with his preposterous Big Lie that the election was 'stolen' from him. (Well, the lie does need to be BIG--that's the whole point.) Even sadder, using the Big Lie can apparently still work with the brain dead. So I think this transferring out in seventh grade could have something to do with assaulting the teacher. But then again this whole tale, and the educational history reported, could be a fabrication. Michael Cohen appears to have done a good job cleaning up his former boss's academic (heh-heh) resume. Fordham? I know a few people who went there, word is the Jesuits run a tight ship. To get the public to accept them they have to appear to have a righteous cause. Usually bringing democracy to people that did not ask for it,In the case of the civil war it was freeing the slaves. The proof of this is in the treatment of freed slaves.
