I had rain gutters/roof rain gutters, whatever you want to call them, when my house was built 12 years ago. Not enough downspouts and the wrong slopes on them. Never worked. Took them all away 4 years ago, so when it rains, there are many many small shoots of water coming down from the ridges on the roof tiles.

I just do not go out when it is raining!

Your name is Phuket but posted in Chiang Mai but I am in Bangkok so not much help for the who.

We used local made SS about 30 years ago and they are still fine today and don't believe they were that much more expensive than cheaper materials (although plastic was not common then).  They need to be a bit large for the heavy rainfalls we get and about 15 years ago ran direct drain pipes to soi for faster drainage.

Rain roof gutter or roof rain gutter? One needs to be precise (twice) here.

Clarifying question is appreciated.

I'm talking about the gutter on the roof to to catch the rain before it destroys the  the walls
