Russian Man Wanted On Drug Charge Nabbed After Hiding In Thailand For 10 Years

IMMIGRATION Bureau police today (Feb. 9) arrested a Russian man wanted in his home country on a drug charge after hiding in Thailand by overstaying his visa for more than 10 years, TV Channel 7 said.

 

Pol. Maj. Gen. Phanthana Nuchanart, deputy chief of the Immigration Bureau, said the Chonburi office team was tipped off that the unidentified 34-year-old Russian man was behaving suspiciously.

 

An investigation revealed that not only has he overstayed in Thailand he is also wanted by the Russian authorities on a drug charge with Interpol having issued a Red Notice for his arrest.

So he's been here for 10 years, therefore he arrived when he was 24.  A bet he's been living the good life while he's been here. 

 

Things are about to change for him and quite dramatically I'd think. 

 

Not sure if Putins still using the Wagner Group, but this fellow may end up on the Russian front....possibly the best place for him.

Or Immigration has no real system to alert them to people who are on overstay.

Another case where an arrest had nothing to do with police investigation and everything to do with a grass.

In my country they are not necessary illegal, but get Asylum after a criminal conviction anyway!
