I hope to sit down with the vendor later this week. Target for installation is July this year.

It will be a system very similar in size to yours. What brand do you have for inverter and panels?

Tier one solar panels are already at ฿6.5/Watt

 

 

 

Inverters are already as low as ฿4K per kW

 

 

Batteries are already at ฿5k per kWh with expectations to see further substantial falls this year

 

 

So just using the prices quoted above 

5kW of Solar = ฿32,000

5kW Inverter = ฿20,000

10kWh Battery = ฿50,000

Total cost = ฿102,000

or ฿52,000 without the battery 

 

Even cheaper now.

Seems to be based on the new MB56 prismatic cell which basically is a double size MB31 and which also has double price, double weight, and double capacity - not much gained at all. Makes it just more difficult to handle, can you imagine bringing one up to your abode at the top of the world? 😆

It is limited to 200A discharge current which is the same as their 314Ah box so take 2 of those instead if you need high current capacity.

What are we paying for quality solar equipment in Feb 2026?

Tier one solar panels ฿4.29/Watt

Inverters ฿2,500 per kW

Batteries ฿3,580 per kWh

Watched a fascinating program on why China have gone all in on renewables*......the amount of electrical energy required to smelt bauxite is phenomenal......why is that important?......smelting bauxite yields the rare earth's required for chip manufacturing.....they aren't or can't be mined.

The Chinese will have a strangle hold on these rare earths, it is claimed, and they can then hold the likes of the US to ransom who, it is claimed, are 20/30 years behind.
