Popular Post webfact Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF Pol.Gen. Surachate Hakparn, nicknamed Big Joke, yesterday (Feb.16) dismissed allegations that he had been involved in money-laundering and running a gambling website. The well-known deputy police chief admitted that as many as eight police officers under his command had been accused of alleged involvement in the money-laundering with huge profits from the gambling website, named Minnie, but categorically denied he himself had been so involved as well. However, some of those unnamed police officers suspected of involvement in the illegal online gambling had allegedly mentioned him as their mastermind. But Pol.Gen. Surachate said he has been groundlessly accused in a conspiracy hatched up among high-ranking police officers to keep him out of a race for promotion as police chief. One relative of mine quit as he didn't want to get involved with the scams and corruption, but struggled to avoid it. Quit disillusioned. 1 1 1
Popular Post spidermike007 Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 As Deputy police chief he could not possibly be more guilty, he is likely involved in multiple scams. Always remember the RTP is a pyramid scheme, and he is near the top of that scheme, so it is likely he is earning hundreds upon hundreds of millions of baht annually. That money likely needs to be laundered. Lock him up! 4 2 1 1 3

Popular Post nausea Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 RTP corruption is pretty much a given, I doubt any of these guys has clean hands, so Big Joke is probably right when he says that this is more to do with internal politicking rather than any real concern about alleged misconduct. 1 1 1 3

Popular Post ikke1959 Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 RTP and the truth are two things that are not matching... RTP should be reformed totally and investigated as corruption and bribes are normal. So in this case too... follow the money 1 1 2

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 (edited) Guilty as charged! The RTP at it's inception seems to have been created with a status quo from the government. We will NOT pay you a living wage, but you have a franchise, and the limit of your income is based solely on your own creativity and initiative, and you will always be protected. Is that not the case? So, where does that leave the #2 man? Guilty. Less than a 1% chance he is innocent. And the degree of his ill gotten gains would likely astonish most, especially those who buy into his "crime fighting, clean cop" facade. Edited February 17 by spidermike007 2 1 2 1 2

He was moved to an inactive post some years ago because he and other members of his force were extorting money from gambling joints and Go-Go bars. They believe that is the reason his car was shot up while he was inside an illegal establishment. 2 1

You might well be tempted to ask "where does that leave his accusers?" It was some time ago that Big Joke found a few bullet holes where he didn't want them. I suspect he may be clean but he is upsetting the apple cart for everyone else. 2

Kerryd Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Wasn't that story from like - early last year or something ? (Yeah, like last September when his name was one being considered for the Police Chief position.) It was quite awhile ago. Why is it coming up again when it seems to be the exact same thing ? There's nothing new in that story to suggest there's new allegations or charges. 1
Bangkok Barry Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Just another story about Thailand's largest criminal organisation. 1 1
klauskunkel Posted February 17 Posted February 17 (edited) Quote He said he would have been arrested for any wrongdoings or been dismissed from his bureaucratic position if he had ever done anything wrong whilst having been attached to Government House for two years during a previous government. His defense has zero credibility. He would not have been arrested, nor dismissed, instead he would have continued in his position, beholden to the group behind all this, without the public ever knowing. Isn't that what happened, Bog Joke? Edited February 17 by klauskunkel

Reigntax Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Every government organisation is corrupt and almost every employee is in it for the money and “benefits” they can receive. As long as a little filters down through the ranks and the majority uo the ranks, nobody cares. 1
