Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
People think of Churchill and his inspiration but he chewed butt to get things done. He'd ask how long something would take and then tell them people would be dying for every day they delayed and gave them less time. -

Explain how this could happen?
Drunk driving but also likely to be distracted driving. On their phone, setting up their satnav or fiddling with the in-car music. The UK has recently doubled the penalty for driving while using a mobile to six points. If I were a betting man I'd say that's what caused this. -

Worm-Robber Bird: Could this "POKING of HOLES" do damage to my lawn?
I have completely changed my perspective and perception of these weirdo birds which enjoy poking holes in my lawn... a. I say, the more poking, the better! b. Also, I now think these birds quite beautiful, after having watched them, day after day, after day. c. It seems to me, alas, that their numbers might be dwindling now, as they prepare to fly/migrate elsewhere. d. I, in fact, now, must tell you: I will, most sincerely, be sorry to see them depart my lawn.....and.... I look forward to seeing them return..... NEXT YEAR. Everyone loves birds....I think. Those were the days..... Nobody now alive remembers ..... -

Abc’s Muir needs to make a public apology
It has been said that fact checking should be the job of the debater. So why didn't Trump fact check Harris? If she lied and it's the debater's job to fact check it, why didn't he do that? Should have been easy if she told such obvious lies. -

Smart Home automations - anybody using?
I use automations, which I trigger with a whole heap of cheap aqara pir sensors, tuya occupancy, espresence, nothing is allowed to connect to the internet, I just use a local server. I use node-red behind the scenes, the general aim is to have everything automated but I use Apple home as a front end on a wall mount ipad to keep it simple for visitors or when automations don't fire. I have Alexa’s but they don’t connect to the Amazon servers. I use HAA to flash sonoff relays, I’m not a fan of company firmware for privacy reasons. I have been playing around with esphome building sensors, i don't need a HA dashboard, but it’s good to log environmental data for future garden automation and display using grafana. I’m haven’t fully moved into my new house but it’s all good fun. -

Thai Khmer - is it alive anywhere in South Isaan?
You mention Buriram, I don't know anyone from that area that can't speak Khmer. However, they are indistinguishable from Thais. If you want to see a modern version of a Thai-Khmer festival attend the Ascent of Phanom Rung Hill. -

Heatwave and Climate Change Puts Pressure on Thailand
Are you sure it's not 56%? Or maybe 62%? There are lots of rough estimations. And long-term rough estimations don't make much sense.
