In March 1953, Manchester United paid the unusual fee of £29,999 for English striker Thomas Taylor because coach Matt Busby did not want to burden him as being a "£30,000 player". Busby took a £1

Just think Champers, you can fit 3 Reebok Stadiums inside there

Toughsheet.

Good performance and result on the final day to finish the season in a lofty 15th place.

It seems they can actually play a bit once all the pressure is off.

If they make a couple of decent signings in the summer I reckon they could be pushing for a top 10 place next year.

It's so much easier when it's 12 men against 10.

Yeah that was a shocking decision on the disallowed Villa goal.

The ref even managed to blow the whistle before the ball hit the net so they couldn't correct it with VAR. 😆

Reminded me of the 90's and 00's when United had all the referees in their pocket.

How much longer will Højlund last.

He must be the worst striker I have seen for a long time.

We need a goal scorer , they have given Chido Obi game time ahead of Gabriele Biancheri .

Obi is a lot of hype , Biancheri is a good between the posts striker and probably the best finisher we have .

Who's number 34?

The recently deceased Wyn Davies.

We still need to solve the problem of scoring goals , Højlund is not only not scoring , he is even blocking our shots on goal now..

I am afraid it is going to be another bleak season .

Seems like you've now got about 6 number 10's, but no striker and no goalkeeper. Plus a weak, ageing midfield.

Cunha and Mbeumo are decent enough players but not what you needed IMO.

I'd say a top half finish would be a good result. No chance of Champions league places. If I had to guess, I'd say 10th. But then I predicted 8th last season so I might be being overly optimistic again.

Watched Utd many times last season.

They didn't gel as a team at all.

They've made a couple of good signings so far, but they need a decent striker.

Amorim needs to be a bit more flexible too & not always insist on 3 at the back.

It's good to have 2 decent proper wingers, not just rely on wing-backs.

Gyokeres is getting a ton of criticism on social media for not being fleet of foot. I was saying this a month ago. It was easy to see in the footage of him. I don't get why everyone is so surprised. He still has speed but his ergonomics just don't look elite

I think he could be a big bust. Glad ManU didn't sign him. I hope they don't sign Sesko either. He doesn't look like top flight material to me either

So after the 2-2 draw against Everton , Bruno has come out and stated "that in parts of the game the players were lazy".

Well I hope you are including yourself in this statement , your second half performance could have cost us the game , with your stupid little flicks that don't come off, and kicking out at the opposition (which on any day in the premier league could have got you sent off ) and continuing to battle with them instead of getting back and defending.

Criticism is good , but you have to look at yourself before criticising others.

Mate. It's pre season.

We have long season of <deleted>e (probably) ahead of us so at least let's hold our reserves of anger for a couple of weeks.

I thought we were excellent against Bournemouth , just need consistency.

They are all pre-season games, it's not about results or performance so much, it's about fitness and trying new things.

Really wondering if we are going to sign a keeper or striker. Seems late in the day.

There is talk of Carlos Baleba of Brighton & Hove Albion , if we are going to buy another player I would prefer  Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Donnarumma.

Disappointing start to the season.

Without the dodgy last minute pen against Burnley they'd be in the relegation zone.

5 Number 10's and no midfield.

Bruno only tracks his man until he gets about 25 yards out and then stops.

Could be a long season. 10th would be a decent result.

Why does Amorim insist on playing 3 at the back? Bruno is a good number 10, but he can't play CM as he can't do the defensive side of things. Surely Mainoo is a better no 8 option. Agree with you. Can't see Utd finishing top half presently.

He could be the guy now Amorim has gone, the PL manager merry-go-round. Next....West Ham.

The manager's job's now toxic at Man U. Who would take the job now unless looking for a payout?
