Pattaya — A van driver lost his life when he reportedly dozed off at the wheel and crashed into a highway truck near Pattaya on Thursday afternoon, April 4th, 2024.

The accident was reported to Banglamung Police Station around 1:30 PM. Police and resuce workers rushed to the scene on an overpass in the Nong Manao area, Banglamung sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province, to find a grey Toyota van had crashed into a six-wheel truck.

Inside the destroyed van, rescue workers found the deceased, later identified as 39-year-old Mr. Suthiphon Ketmak. The victim suffered fatal injuries, including a broken neck and a broken right eyebrow. Mr. Suthiphon died in the driver’s seat. Rescue workers used cutting equipment to remove the body from the vehicle.

Anybody want to bet whether or not he was wearing a seat belt? The problem with parked cars and trucks, telephone poles, and trees, is that they're very inflexible and when you hit them at high speed something very bad is going to happen.

We know that this is the last mistake he'll ever make.

As it says he died in the drivers seat one would presume he was wearing a seat belt,he's hit something heavier and the impact has broken his neck.

Not as though he was going to exit through the windscreen if he was not wearing a seatbelt.... Which I presume he was not wearing.

How do they know he had fallen asleep , he could have just been

driving without due care and attention ,which many of them do ....

No , the problem is minivan drivers

I'm sure the broken right eyebrow contributed to his fatal injuries!

You can't make this stuff up... maybe he had chipped teeth too.

At least they didn't mention what clothes he was wearing

Doubt if he would have seen it wide awake,  the killing season is nearly upon us 🤔

There are a lot of 'Dozy' drivers in Thailand, if indeed he he did fall asleep, 2 in one day. So far. Safe and Trusted Thailand.

Or on his phone - as many are these days.

The ones that worry me are delivery motorcyclists. Always looking at their phones whilst riding along.
