Send him to Australia, plenty of handouts for these losers.

He is probably typing his GoFundMe page right now.

Meth = frazzled. And yes, probably not the brightest bulb. It's sad, really, these guys are sick with their addictions. No one would choose to live like this if they could turn back the hands of time.

  • What a loser this idiot is.

We tried that - check your knowledge of history - you obviously don't like Aussies either.

Where do you come from Mr. 'Safety first'?

La La Land?

No losers of your own?

Just vindictive and saddies - like you, eh?

Addiction is a terrible thing, my father has been an addict since I was around 6 years old and we've not spoken in 20 years now, he went to Falklands then ran a successful business but his father's death sparked a spiral he never recovered from, unfortunately, no amount of help will work unless they want to help themselves. I hope this guy can at least get back to the UK rather than the IDC.

I hate that word loser not everyone is as fortunate as others at one stage of my life I ended up living rough and begging I’ve been there worn the T Shirt nor was I a drug taker or alcoholic thankfully I managed to turn my life around and become pretty successful in life so much so that I could afford to fully retire at 55  now 73 years young I never condemn those who have fallen on hard times !

One has to sympathise with these people, they get pressured into taking drugs, take them for whatever reason and get hooked and then cant stop. The British govt should be doing more to help them.

Is that so? How did this fool get pressured into taking drugs in Thailand, and how should the British government help him? Silly.

Some children suffer such incredible amounts of trauma drugs take away the pain, at least for a bit.

Trauma plus years of drug use many end up  completely dysfunctional.

Who knows this man's story. But better to stay silent than immediately dismiss him as an effing loser imo.

no free flights home from IDC......  if you dont have the money, you stay there until you can find it.  some people been locked in those 2 cells for years 😞

Perfect idea. I like it🤗

In most countries neither begging nor wanting to buy drugs is a criminal offense. Would they arrest a Thai for begging? This is pretty over the top. I can understand them maybe trying to clear him out, trying to find him a place to stay, but arresting him for begging this is just so inane, so silly, and such an overreaction.

I wonder what's going on here right now, there really seems to be a a frenzy that's driving a lot of nonsense.

The real truth of the matter is that Thailand no longer attracts the affluent nor the wealthy tourists, so you're getting more and more dregs in exchange for those wealthy tourists that used to come.

They have a dozen different reasons to not come anymore.

I think they arrested him because he's on the lam from a drug charge in Samui.

Police checked Hartas’s criminal history and found that he had escaped arrest in a drug case in Koh Samui and sought refuge in Koh Pha Ngan. Hartas confessed to fleeing from the arrest in Koh Samui, stating that he resorted to begging for food.

Not sure I agree with your assessment.

residents informed the police that the majority of the money earned from begging was used to purchase drugs.

Wonder if they also informed the police as to whom he was purchasing drugs from ?

His sign asks for money for food no mention of drugs that’s only hear say although it does state he is wanted in Samui maybe he will get away with it like a certain well known fugitive . When I walk into a lady bar it’s a guarantee that one of them will ask me to buy them a beer is that not begging ! Best thing is ship him back home !

Unarguable rs logic, thanks for that.

Begging to buy drugs is better than committing crimes to buy drugs, IMO.

Beging is a crime. This is why I don't give to any beggars meaning he is harming people in genuine need who resort to Begging.

Put the <deleted> in prison and suffer cold turkey. This should be repeated every 6 months for 2 years or until drug free.

And millions face great trauma and never do drugs ever! If I was betting he would tip towards a loser.

What , if any , form of visa does/did he have ?

Officers did not report whether they conducted a drug test on Hartas or found any drugs in his possession. According to MGR Online, Hartas faced two charges:

Section 145 of the Narcotics Control Act: possessing Category 1 drug (methamphetamine). The penalty is imprisonment from two to 20 years and a fine of 200,000 to 2 million baht.

Strange ...
The police found no drugs in his possession but charged him for possessing Category 1 drugs.

“There but for the grace of God go I.”

Good luck brother.

Ata boy....bringing the brits to the fore ... again!

What a plonker.. brain must be frazzled!

Too much Brics made his brain numb

Now these are the sort of guys that need repatriating to their home countries.

No money, outstanding drugs case, begging on the streets in a foreign land, he's no longer here for tourism purposes, and these are the types of characters taking up residence in Cambodia.

They are bad for the local economy and not much good for themselves.

Yeah,

Where has that young US kid gone?

I was dying to get to the end of that story, plus he took the limelight off the feckless Brits for a while.

A fugitive deadbeat criminal foreigner... That's like the trifecta of losers.
