21 Burmese individuals without proper documentation have been apprehended in Pattaya. Local police, led by Pol Lt Col Weerachai Thinkhamut, raided two rented homes on Soi Kho Phai after receiving complaints about disruptive noise.

Among those arrested, 19 were men and two were women, all of whom had no passports or visas. The houses' caretaker, Mr. Somphoch Cheablam, stated that he had rented the homes to Burmese nationals with legal documents but lost control when these individuals invited undocumented friends.

He charged them 2,000 baht monthly, with an initial deposit of 1,000 baht. The unidentified owner of the properties, based in Chonburi, will face fines for failing to report the accommodation of foreign nationals within a 24-hour timeline, as per local regulations.

The arrested individuals will be processed by Pattaya Police Station and eventually deported back to Myanmar.

Can Thailand deport them back to a war zone?

They towed Rohingya refugees back out to sea in their boats after removing the engines, so I guess they can do as they please.

Dump them on an island and follow the Austrtalian way,

Or make a deal with the UK and send them to Rwanda .

The raids usually take place just before payday so the employer saves on wages. An (anonymous) phone call is all it takes.

They have been doing that for years down here in Phuket

Quick! Get up to Mae Sot in Tak Province where you will find at least a thousand Burmese without passports. Potential 'Brownie' points.😀

21 people in 2 small houses. Acute labour shortage in Thailand. They'll be stamped in no doubt about that. But what an incredibly nasty bunch of comments here. Same for the Thai women in Korea. If all you can come out with is chuck 'em out...just fatuous.

That's why they want a submarine!

Periscope depth, tow rope, oh that Rohingya boat is floating out to sea!

Sigh

You got an escape plan?

But yes there are some callous posters around.
