juries are picked as much as possible by the prosecution to convict.....juries are picked as much as possible by the defense to find "reasonable doubt"....the prosecutor has to convince all 12 to convict while the defense only needs one to let him walk.....nothing new about that ....if donnie is so very very innocent then it should be a slam dunk to find one person out of 12 to side with him.....since donnie whines over and over about how innocent he is then stop with the delay delay BS and put it all in front of a jury then he and his legal eagles will no doubt have the chance to demonstrate how very weak the case and evidence are.

Unless you consider this forum and Al Jazeera dodgy right wing media outlets, then I decided it was a political trial without any dodgy right wing media outlets input.

While this is far from the most significant of trump's many trials, I think he loses (absent a trumper being on the jury and making it hung). I'd put it at 90% he's convicted of the felony charges.

Plenty of folks have argued that making his (alleged) crime a felony is not that strong, but I think it gets made. The jury is made up of humans, and they are influenced by the overall picture of trump. His defense has denied both affairs, with Stormy and McDougal. Stormy's might have been a comedic one-time tryst, but McDougal had an almost year long affair, and was chauffeured to the hotels by trump's bodyguard, who will be called to the stand. Few will believe he drove her dozens and dozens of times to trump's hotel merely to share a room service meal and chat. Both women will likely be asked about trump's junk, which will match, as well as make him look small. On top of that, the transcript of the Access Hollywood tape is being entered into evidence, and he doesn't come across as likeable in that.

It is extremely unlikely the jury will believe trump's denials of both affairs, which will lose him all credibility as well as sympathy. Though it should not be connected, the negative view the jurors will build of trump makes it all the more likely they will accept the prosecution's argument of "felony", rather than misdemeanor. The women on the jury (5) will be easiest to influence, because both alleged affairs happened while trump's 3rd wife was recovering from childbirth.

It would have been smarter for trump to take the hit to his lack of character and just admit the affairs, because when he denies while the jury believes Stormy and McDougal, the jury will turn against him.

Lots of deflection, but you never state whether Trump is guilty or not. And by guilty, I mean that the allegations are true - it's possible for a Trump fan to claim that the allegations are true, but Trump is innocent.

Rich guys pay money to hide their disgraceful behavior all the time. It is unseemly, but not illegal.  I mean, Mushroom Man banged the porn woman what, 18 years ago? The only person who should be p!ssed off is his wife.  Nobody else's business.

I think it would have been nobody else's business if he wasn't running for president AND tried to cover it up.

If he let it run its course people might have said "surprise, surprise" Trump banged a porn actress, but his effort to cover up is what got it into court.

Is covering it up illegal? Paying for an NDA is not a crime as far as I know.  Seems like a wise thing to do- pay for silence rather than risk an embarrassing revelation at a bad time.  AFAIK, Clinton did the same and paid off Paula Jones on the eve of his impeachment hearing.

I don't claim to be an expert on NY law, but the prosecutors seem to think that the coverup was illegal.

You can post your questions one million times, but they all will be forgotten after the verdict. That's an interesting aspect of MAGA trolls, they are trained to try to win the day with talking points, and it's no big deal if the talking points are shown to be bogus or obsolete down the road - winning today is the only thing.

Actually, you are getting close to using one of @Yellowtail's favorite trolling techniques: breaking a criminal act down to its constituent parts, and then questioning the legality of those constituent parts:

"So Trump wrote a check for Michael Cohen. Since when is it a crime to write a check?".

Please don't give that "@@@@@"  any more off topic (or any) ideas to help it highjack topics which it knows nothing about!

Not OK with it, but not sure why it is such a big deal. The amount of money in question was paltry.  But let's let the system do its job and see where it takes us.

You are great for bringing up history, but let's talk about this trial.

Do you think that Trump had affairs with Stormy Daniels and/or Karen McDougal?

Yeah, I know, you don't have talking points to cover that, but please don't deflect - if you can't answer, admit it.

Stormy absolutely. MaDougal I frankly don't know enough about to make an informed guess.

So yeah I am sure he paid Stormy to shut up. She saw an opportunity to sell her story once Trump was in the spotlight as a Presidential candidate. And he wanted the story to go away.

Not exactly. Some crimes are more serious than others, some have statute of limitations applied and so on. So let's let it play out and see where we wind up.

A grand jury indicted Trump. I'm guessing that they have more info about this than we do....
