Blinken Warns of Chinese Election Interference Amid Tense Relations

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has sounded the alarm on China's attempts to influence the upcoming U.S. elections, revealing evidence of interference efforts during his recent visit to China. In an interview with CNN, Blinken emphasized the Biden administration's stance that any such interference is "totally unacceptable."

During his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other officials, Blinken raised concerns about the interference, underscoring that it would constitute a violation of commitments made by Xi during his November meeting with President Biden in Woodside, Calif. The goal of that meeting was to address deep-seated mistrust and competition between the U.S. and China.

While Blinken did not cite specific evidence of Chinese election interference, reports have emerged, including from The New York Times, indicating covert Chinese accounts posing as supporters of former President Trump. These accounts allegedly promote conspiracy theories, sow domestic divisions, and target President Biden ahead of the November election.

Expressing firm opposition to any Chinese interference, Blinken reiterated the message during his discussions with Xi and other officials. Despite the tense atmosphere, Blinken's trip aimed to maintain open lines of communication and explore avenues for cooperation between the two nations.

Throughout his visit, Blinken met with key figures in China, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong. He emphasized the importance of military-to-military communication to prevent conflicts, highlighted the need for counternarcotics cooperation, and advocated for stronger people-to-people ties.

However, Blinken's trip concluded without any new announcements on cooperation, underscoring the profound tensions between the two countries. Despite the challenges, Blinken remains committed to stabilizing the relationship and strengthening communication channels at the highest levels.

As the U.S. and China navigate their complex relationship, Blinken's warnings serve as a reminder of the ongoing geopolitical tensions and the need for vigilance against foreign interference in American elections.

Great point.....why do we allow dual citizens of Israel and US to sit in out legislature and drive billions of dollars into Israeli pockets?

There you again. Spreading Jew hating tropes. Disgusting.

As far as US congress, I'm not aware of even one dual American Israeli citizen.

If there are any, please name them and give credible sources. Please don't bother posting white nationalist / Nazi style sources.  I doubt there is even one but if so, even then, it would be very small percentage of Jews in congress.

Do you have a problem with dual American Italian citizens?

There is no law against dual citizens being elected.

I would hope such cases are made public so the voters can decide whether that is relevant.

I suggest all those who believe in the US bulls**t of not interfering in other countries politics read the following:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_involvement_in_regime_change_in_Latin_America

Note that these are only the known involvements. The CIA, other US organizations & businesses will undoubtedly have interferred in many other instances.

US expansionism has always been a driving force of US politics since invading North America & stealing it from the local inhabitants. But then that is the way of all colonialist powers. You only have to look at Australia for a perfect example of land theft.

I agree with your statement about the nefarious  CIA activities and the US A ,nation building schemes.

Omg ! Land theft! The  US didn't invade North America! What country are you from?

Historically,Every nation that searched to conquer , subjugated other nations.

Of course I know that. I didn't say the US invaded North America. However I should have said the British, French, Spanish etc. invaded North America as the US didn't exist until later. My mistake for your misunderstanding. But then there are plenty of other colonial powers throughout history. The Right of Conquest is how the invading countries justify pillaging other countries.

Conquest & exploitation by people of other nations was always common amongst all nations throughout history! Humanistic of man imop

Colonialism is taken out of context now a-day to further a growing evil that permeates in extreme left circles .

Last time round it was the Russian President Putin, this time they are s1ht-scared about the Chinese leadership in Beijing.

The US is in itself a failed state for quite some time already and uniting domestic fighters under one umbrella is done easiest by inventing a non-existing foreign enemy.

China's farewell protocol of Blinken's recent departure was self-explanatory for the fact, that there was not a single Chinese present, neither foreign minister nor cleaners - get the message, Mr Blinken.

In closing, how poor must the American electorate system be to allow any Tom, Dick and Harry to fiddle around in US internal elections?

Better than the last one we had. Pompeo was a boot licker and turncoat.

Worst Secretary of State Ever Trump may have some competition for the worst president title, but Pompeo is in a class of his own.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Pompeo

Once a critic of Donald Trump, whom he called "authoritarian", Pompeo turned into one of his biggest supporters after Trump became the Republican nominee in the 2016 presidential election.

After Trump fired the State Department inspector general, Steve Linick in May 2020,[112] it became known that Linick had begun an investigation into ethics violations by Pompeo and his wife alleged by whistle-blowers.[113][114] The investigation continued after his firing, and the review report was released in April 2021. The review had found more than 100 instances of misconduct where Pompeo requested that State Department staff perform personal errands for him and his wife,[115] "from booking salon appointments and private dinner reservations to picking up their dog and arranging tours for the Pompeos' political allies."[116]

New movie out now: Gone Off Topic in 60 Seconds.

Are you talking about the great orange one, who always starts whining months before the elections that it’s impossible for him to lose, unless the elections are rigged?

Deflection and whataboutery. Topic is about Blinken, not a who is the worst Sec. State thread.
