Error/forgetfulness of the century:  did not apply for the re-entry visa. Any chance that airport Immigration, by asking, won't cancel current visa? Thank you.

Exit without reentry permit and your permission of stay is gone.

Over and out.

Nothing can be done at immigration when you reenter.

What "visa" or extension did you have.

You can return visa exempt and be stamped in 30 days and then obtain a non O retirement or marriage at immigration office.

Obviously requires financials

If you have already departed, and have extension of stay, as above - but if about to leave you likely can obtain the re-entry permit at the airport before flight leaves (allow extra time).  If you actually only have a multi entry visa vaild for 90 day stays leaving just ends current 90 day stay.

From the sound of your post you have not departed but not sure. You can get one at the airport on the way out. If you've left already Imm stamped you as departed and you start over when returning.

Yes, unless your Permission to stay was based on a MultipleEntry Visa, you current Permission to stay will be voided when departing Thailand without a Re-Entry Permit, forcing you to apply from scratch again.

Note that sometimes such error can be a blessing in disguise, as it allows you to apply for long-term stay Visa that might be more fitting for your situation.  E.g switching from Retirement to Marriage or Dependant Thai children, or applying for a 1-year ME Visa instead of a 90-day SingleEntry one.  Obviously, whether it would be beneficial for you to apply for a different type Visa would depend on your particular situation, so you could provide the details of your current Visa-status and pesonal situation and request info on possible alternatives.
