Popular Post 2long Posted May 4, 2024 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2024 I recently bought an electrical product from a leading retailer, for a price of less than 1,000B. When I got it home, it was faulty, but I can't find the receipt. I have now gone back to another branch and bought the same item again, and of course kept the receipt. And tomorrow I plan to go back to return the original item with the receipt for the second purchase. I AM NOT asking for a refund, and am happy to have two items (if they replace it), having paid twice (once for each). Part of me feels a bit guilty, but another part of me says it's ok. I have paid two times with good money, but the first item was clearly faulty (wouldn't charge). Am I a bad guy? 4 4

Popular Post Lacessit Posted May 4, 2024 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2024 You may be called a bad guy if the seller compares the serial number on the receipt, or their records, with the serial number on the faulty device. As you have paid out twice, IMO not cheating. 6

But I agree. Not cheating, and that's what I'd have done, and have in the past. With no remorse, even though I often second guess myself. 1

Popular Post OneMoreFarang Posted May 4, 2024 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2024 For many items and brands, you don't need a receipt. Check on their website for the importer or distributor or something like that, or authorized service center. Go there, or call them, and ask what you can do. Likely, at least with a good brand, you can get things repaired when they realize that you bought it recently from an authorized dealer. 2 1

fittobethaied Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 God gave you a conscience for decisions like this. If it is bothering you, then pay close attention to it. James 4:17.....Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin. The best course of action is to always tell the truth. Just go throw yourself on the mercy of the retailer's return department, and I'm sure they will understand and cut you some slack. Try it! You'll be pleasantly surprised what will happen when you practice righteousness. 1 1

I later found that the shorts I'd picked up were a 34" waist and I am a 32" waist. I went back to Lotus (2 days later) and asked the customer service if I could exchange them. They asked me a few questions such as what day and time I made the purchase, how did I pay (bank app scan), what else I purchased and then to my surprise they were able to print out a copy of my receipt. Then they let me go and get the correct size and everything was sorted out. The customer service personnel where really helpful and as I don't speak a word of Thai the whole thing was done in English with no issue. 1 2
