Physical Altercation Between Guards and Customers on Soi 6 in Pattaya Goes Viral

PATTAYA – An altercation occurred in Pattaya City on Soi Six over the past weekend involving security personnel working for independent bars from an undisclosed entertainment venue and three foreign nationals. The incident, which took place at 5:26 p.m. on Friday, May 24th, 2024, was captured on video and disseminated through social media, going viral.

The videos, each lasting approximately one minute, depict the security guards engaging in a physical confrontation with the foreign individuals. The footage shows one unidentified tourist in a white shirt seemingly being attacked by the guards, followed by a second tourist in a gray shirt who intervenes and is subsequently assaulted.

 

As the videos may disturb sensitive readers, we have decided not to show them here, although they are widely available online.

 

One unidentified foreign tourist appears to be kicked in the head by a guard while lying injured on the ground at the end of the fight, which caused significant discourse and commentary on both Thai and English social media. His condition is still to be confirmed by police publicly as of press time.

I've only seen one post saying he died so may not be correct, like the girl broken nose version which is also questionable

Hopefully, alive, as you say.

But, so far, no published news.

 

It seems that he may have hit nobody inside the bar.

His main error may have occurred just outside the bar in an unfortunate altercation with the fat mustachioed guard.

 

Looking at the video inside the bar, clearly all was chaos for awhile with many individuals pushing and shoving.

 

Also, quite noisy in the bar, which must have added to the confusion.

 

This is not a place I would take a nice girl on a first date.

This is nowhere near an isolated incident. Open YouTube and search for Pattaya fight and take your pick of similar incidents in the family-friendly resort.

I see both of these foreigners kicked in the head multiple times, and hard enough to easily cause brain damage, coma or death, IMO.

 

Why do I keep reading about "one" foreigner being kicked?  They both got it in the head numerous times, especially when they were down!

If this all really started over the refusal to pay a bar bill in a brothel, then all I can say is that type of a bad decision can never end well for the punter.
 

The fact that things then turned into a melee of over the top violence is part and parcel for the location and how things got started.
 

Cause and effect. You phuk around and find out. Seemingly things went way over the top and all the violence was uncalled for, but that's almost always the case in these unhinged situations. You don't find cool heads on Soi 6. 
 

Now it's come down to a possible murder and accountability. All over 2,000 Baht perhaps. What a pity.

I live here since decades, and I used to often in the night life streets.

I saw a couple of fights, and I heard about many more.

I never heard that anybody was harmed by the guards for no reason.

If people molest the girls or don't pay their bills there are consequences, often severe consequences and it happens fast.

And I am sure that is one of the reasons why most visitors behave and pay their bills. Great.

Personally, I am happy that all in all we, the good guys, can visit bars and those streets without meeting the bad guys.

Correct - videos can presently be found in the comments section of Pattaya News on FB for those interested. If the current rumors of a fatality are true, I expect they will be taken down. It’s a street brawl…but unfortunate to see some head kicking of downed and semi-conscious opponents.

 

Where it got completely out of hand…one of the security guards has a gushing nose, possibly where the broken nose story has come from, so presumably he took a good slap from one of the Brits. He takes a step out for a few seconds before running back in to absolutely hammer a fully unconscious man with a football style head kick. Needless to say, that could cause an extremely serious injury, or worse.

The Last thing we need is "Thuggery" if they are being unruly call the Police dont Murder the tourists-  It only takes one punch or kick to the head to kill someone and wont that be "Good" for business Nation wide permanently. The security guards are just that guards, not police and should be charged with assault, fined and fired. They have video cameras, the tourists if guilty of crime need to be dealt with by the POLICE not beaten up like some 3rd world scum bag place- Think door man, helper, friendly not looking for a fight with a bad attitude, in tree town I seen 3 of them on to one elderly man biting his face.. "BITING HIS FACE" , like kicking someone in the head while on the ground is not "Security" work but a low life cowardly act Again call the police.

I find it interesting that so many on this thread are blaming the victims, and therefore justifying attempted murder by the security guards thugs in black. It says a lot about them. And some of those who say that the tourists deserved such a beating are the same who criticise other foreigners behaving badly. Maybe they need to look in the mirror after supporting the thugs over the victims.
