Yes, because I can always come back later and politely ask the Manager to review the CCTV to confirm the misunderstanding. Yes, it sucks to pay extra, but know your area and practice situational awareness. You will lose trying to get all "tough guy" here in this country. Better yet, get a Thai person who can translate to help you mitigate the situation with security. From the CCTV, it appears the unfortunate guy who got his head kicked, was drunk and aggressive. Not a smart move. 3 2

A deflection. The principle you demand loudly ad nauseam for any suggestion of farang guilt vs a Thai victim--demanding definitive, irrefutable, absolute evidence BEFORE any judgment is made--you hypocritically don't apply in the reverse case of possible Thai guilt. The latter you accept w/o that definitive, irrefutable, absolute evidence and even make up stuff to explain reasons for the guilt. Why is that, except just bigotry? 2 hours ago, Bday Prang said: Exactly what point of yours have I ignored due to it being true? Exactly the above. W/o going back thru all your tedious posts on the topic made before all the vids surfaced, the specific point I addressed was your judgment, w/o the slightest shred of evidence, about drug use by the Thai, to pile on the guilt. 2
Pattaya57 Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Bangkok Post now running the story claiming that the custmomer struck first and the 3 security guards were fighting back. I guess this is the story all Thai news will run despite cctv clearly showing it to be false and guard threw first punch. The article now also claiming guard has a broken nose and required 6 stiches so are they trying to provide justification? Again no mention of health of the two beaten foreigners 2 1 1

The foreign guys were dicks for refusing to pay and then squaring up to the guards, who are paid to sort this type of trouble out. The head kick looked bad but I don't think the guards were wearing boots or heavy shoes, although the guy in white did look hurt, so that was excessive as the guy was one the floor anyway and no threat. As far as I can see the guards were just doing their jobs, which is to give a good hammering to people who refuse to pay. But the odds were ok and better than the usual 10 onto 1 we see on videos. Seems like the usual high quality pissed up Brits Thailand sees to attract, or their equivalent from somewhere else, where they want to play the big hard guy, but actually can't handle it. retardius watched the YouTube version. Or even an “AI” Version? You're right, no boots. The gear of the thugs could be upgraded. One of the heroes lost his shoe, during his outstanding performance. I guess the knuckle brass is a private contribution to work "safety". Nothing about motivated employees. After this ejaculation, you should make a donation to the Employer, to gear up the thugs. I saw a couple of fights, and I heard about many more. I never heard that anybody was harmed by the guards for no reason. If people molest the girls or don't pay their bills there are consequences, often severe consequences and it happens fast. And I am sure that is one of the reasons why most visitors behave and pay their bills. Great. Personally, I am happy that all in all we, the good guys, can visit bars and those streets without meeting the bad guys. when i had a go-go bar we had security that was provided by the police we were paying one of those security punched one of our own girls in the face when she declined to give him some money (she could not work for a week) i fired all 3 of them that night (as the other 2 just stood there and watched and done nothing) and then had 2 of them come next night threatening to cut my throat. 2 2

Popular Post Chris Renaix Posted May 27, 2024 Popular Post Posted May 27, 2024 4 hours ago, webfact said: Security guards arrested after tourist assault in Pattaya by Ryan Turner Image courtesy of Pattaya News Pattaya City Police apprehended three security guards after a viral video captured them allegedly assaulting a tourist. The incident, which has caused widespread condemnation and raised concerns about Pattaya’s image as a tourist destination, occurred at approximately 11.36pm yesterday. Police Colonel Navin Teerawit, superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, led the operation to detain the suspects. The individuals, identified as 27 year old Ball, 36 year old Tom, and 24 year old Ice were taken in for questioning and further legal action. These guards were reportedly part of a freelance group providing security for multiple bars, though they were not directly linked to any specific establishment. The guards have admitted their involvement in the incident. Ball claimed he was initially assaulted by a tourist, which led to injuries requiring medical attention. Despite this alleged provocation, the guards’ actions have been widely criticised as excessive, particularly since one guard was seen kicking a tourist in the head as he lay on the ground after being beaten. Pol. Col. Navin reprimanded the guards, stressing that their primary duty is to ensure the safety of tourists, not to engage in violence. He emphasised the need for restraint and the importance of involving law enforcement to de-escalate conflicts. “Security personnel must act professionally and maintain composure. Their actions directly impact Pattaya’s reputation as a safe and welcoming tourist destination.” The superintendent ordered a strict legal follow-up to ensure the guards face the consequences of their actions. The investigation is supported by CCTV footage, which documents the escalation of the confrontation and serves as crucial evidence. The incident has sparked a broader conversation about the conduct of security personnel in Pattaya, highlighting the delicate balance between maintaining order and preserving the city’s welcoming atmosphere for tourists. Details of the legal charges against the guards have not been immediately disclosed by Pattaya police. Despite various rumours circulating online, the condition of the tourist who appeared to be kicked in the head remains unclear. His friends, who were also present, have reportedly declined to file police reports or press charges, seemingly wanting to move past the incident. However, given the viral nature of the video, avoiding legal repercussions may no longer be possible, reported Pattaya News. The 'guard' is standing there, looking, waiting, then takes a penalty kick to the guy's head when he's laying on the ground. Despicable thughs. Great advertising for foreigners and "security" personnel. 3

Ms. Samorn, a 38-year-old cashier at the bar where the incident occurred, witnessed three foreign tourists drinking. Two paid their bills, but the third changed seats multiple times and then left without paying. When asked for payment for the 3rd guy, the guy in the white shirt argued he had already paid. Eventually, the other guy in the group paid the 2,800 Baht bill for the 3rd guy, but the one in the white shirt pushed a guard, leading to chaos on the street. So they squared all the bills. Even if the guy pushed the guard afterwards, no way the guards should have delivered a hard kick to the head when the guy is already on the ground and nearly unconscious. In fact, guards shouldn't have hit anyone. Just restrained them and called police to arrest them if necessary. 1 2 3

Fact is they already paid all outstanding bills before any violence erupted. As you said, guards should have left and no violence should have occurred at all. But these guards are probably looking for any opportunity to smash up anyone who is a bit drunk and acting a bit aggressive. They also probably want to prove their worth to the bar owners and as to why they should be paid to be there. All of it is all wrong on every level. 5 3
