Do you consider George Floyd a hero?

He was on fentanyl and was the major contributor to his death.  Along with HIS actions of the day.

He had some Fentanyl in his system - it didn't kill him.

I'll ask one question: you blame him, but do you see the cop who knelt on his neck for nine minutes while he was handcuffed, unarmed, face down and subdued, and surrounded by armed police as being blameless? Was that a major contributor to his death perhaps? Or was it only GF for being there and initially resisting arrest? Do you not apportion any blame to Chauvin at all? It's just all laid at GF's feet? Please explain.

A reasonable cop, after he was restrained and subdued - as he was - would have put him in the car and taken him to the station and let due process take its course. Yet Chauvin continued to kneel on his neck until he stopped breathing. Was that reasonable? Can you answer that simple question?

In the UK it would have been over in a few minutes and he would have been booked. Only in America is police brutality of this scale accepted and justified, but no one can come out and say why. Why couldn't he have been hauled off to jail after he was cuffed and subdued? Why choke him to death?

I didn't follow the story in detail. As far as I know he was a criminal. But also, as far as I know, the police used a lot more force than necessary. In a civilized country the police s

I'm by no means a leftie, but the same statement can be said about the Mag-hats destroying democracy. False electors, J-6 riots, countless proven lies up and down the chain-of command, using fascist tactics, the list goes on & on.

So what? He was subdued and under control, face down, handcuffed behind his back. Job done.

Why the need to press the full weight of a human on to his neck for NINE MINUTES until he was dead? Answer the question. I know from other threads you like to bash and run and don't answer direct questions, but try just once.

What, on this occasion (not a crime committed 13 years previously), did he do to deserve to be killed when he was already in handcuffs, face down, subdued, gasping for breath and there were several armed police in attendance?

Please, for once in your AN history, answer a question.

Your last sentence ruined it for you, I ignore dick-heads.........:coffee1:

Not a hero but not someone who deserved to die. Most on the left saw it like this and considered some reforms in policing may be a good thing.

Some on the extremes used terms like Defund the Police which from day 1 was a terrible slogan - even if components of what was being asked for had some merit - and the whole left including Biden - who never made such a call - are being tarnished by the right for this ever since.

Some here think they can get the moral high ground - and offset the ridiculousness of their candidate - by bringing up such topics - but ask yourself if Biden's policies on crime are ridiculous or a different person's who talks about shooting petty criminals and such.

Agree.  George Floyd is not a hero, but a victim.  I'd imagine people with his skin tone would prefer not to be victims as well.

At 46 years old, still preferred to be a career criminal, even after at least eight jail terms on various charges.

Don't think "rehabilitation or assimilation" into a legal society was in his dictionary.

I retired at 46, he was still using people for personal gain.  I grew up poor & didn't make it past High School.

Floyd attended colleges, S FL Community College, then Teas A & M on sports scholarships for football & basketball.

Cry me a river ...  :coffee1:

George Floyd 46,was a drug addict and career criminal ,on the last day of his life he chose to further his career as a  “conniving thug” , a criminal, a drug addict !

biden & others on the left use his name to suggest he was a icon , a man to be respected ,example look at the picture above !

Truth be told , the left is sending out the wrong message to kids & adults!

Show  his life, show his accomplishments, show his past! They don’t but they use his death to advance  racism , White Supremacy and to attack law enforcement.

He could have been all of that picture above,if he chose education ,a skilled trade as a young  man  and stuck to bettering himself , instead he chose drugs, thuggery & crime.

George your being used again!

I agree ! He basically said what most understand, especially those who have followed the events and can read in between the lines of  propaganda.

Some people & platforms twist the events to further a political narrative!

None of that is relevant.

It doesn't matter if you are a drug addict, a petty criminal, an MIT student, an engineer, a preacher or a saint.

No one should be killed by the police when they are unarmed, subdued, restrained, face down, and posing no threat whatsoever to the several armed police around them. Do you agree with that statement or not? Simple question, yes or no. I await your response.

I look at the big picture Drugs and crime usually put people and others at risk! Floyd is being elevated to something he never could of become ,a hero . If he only obeyed police commands .If only he stayed in the car.If only the judge allowed everyone to hear about prior arrests and how George played con man with police officials

If only Americans & the world weren’t lied too .

So you won't answer the question. Right. Says it all (and you follow up with a Fox News link, ha ha)

Simple yes or no: No one should be killed by the police when they are unarmed, subdued, restrained, face down, and posing no threat whatsoever to the several armed police around them. Do you agree with that statement or not? Simple question, yes or no. I await your response.

No "what ifs". No "what about his background". Forget his background, forget his skin colour. Yes or not, agree or don't agree.

I await.

And do you know who Liz Collin is married to? Bob Kroll, the president of the Minneapolis Police Union. Kroll was named in a lawsuit for discrimination by four black officers. He openly wears (or used to wear) a "white power" patch on his motorcycle jacket. He is a white supremacist. She shares his views.

So her "documentary" on Fox News is only for the gullible who want to believe it. People like you.

You're funny.

I followed up with the only investigator reporting of the Floyd  scandal.

People are worshiping a false impression! He was a experienced  career criminal who knew how to game a police investigation , according to the investigator journalist being interviewed .
The journalist interviewed many experts & people not just her husband .

Again you dodge the question. Yes, he was a bad man, he used drugs, he had a history of criminality. Nobody disputes that. But that has no bearing on the issue at hand.

No one should be killed by the police when they are unarmed, subdued, restrained, face down, and posing no threat whatsoever to the several armed police around them. Do you agree with that statement or not? Simple question, yes or no. I await your response, for the third time.

He asked to be put in the street to.

And they had already call the EMT which were 10-20 minutes late.

When you only work 8 days a month, and have 22 days off, and can fly anywhere you want, because you work for an airlines, why would you retire, when you're having that much fun.  Got all my traveling out of my system, while it's almost free.   Those flight bennies contributed too much to my smiles.

I think I OD'd on traveling, as literally couldn't think of another place I wanted to travel to, worth the plane ride.  Especially after all the new rules, 2 & 3 hr check ins ... NO THANKS

He knew how to game a police investigation after he was dead? How did he manage that exactly?

And you dodged my question for a fourth time. What are you struggling with? Please just give it a go - it is a simple yes or no, I am sure you csn understand that. Or am I giving you too much credit?

Why do you deflect, just answer a yes or no. Your refusal to do so tells me a lot about your prejudices. Even though I disagree with @Yellowtail at least he answered the question and I give him credit for that. You get none.

Last opportunity. Yes or no?

Watch the documentary !

Everything was almost Identical in a previous arrest! ( gamed the police investigation).

I’ll answer your question like this , Obey police commands and don’t resist.

Chances are you won’t get killed by the police .

Some of the most antagonistic drivel written solely for the purpose of stoking conflict that I've ever read.

He was a wrong'un but he was killed unlawfully. He would be alive if he wasn't a criminal. He would be alive if the cops weren't gung-ho asshats.

So, you did not watch all of the body-cam footage, that the judge did not allow in court, but rather just relied on the clips CNN used to stir things up...

You have a way with words!

Thanks

Watching new body cam footage and  Floyd criminal & Drug activity that was kept from the public , gives credibility to Floyd being a notorious villain in society and certainly not worthy of hero status  !
