Ohh look at how clever comrade Chomper is finding a gravestone of a muslim fighting on our side. The UK has been turned into a mutli cultural dustbin with so many millions pouring in since Blair opened the floodgates. Now houses and rents are unaffordable, NHS is on it's knees and some schools have to cope with 20 languages. Mr Din did not fight for the mess the Britain is in now. Vote reform.

Now in Injia’s sunny clime,
Where I used to spend my time
A-servin’ of ’Er Majesty the Queen,
Of all them blackfaced crew
The finest man I knew
Was our regimental bhisti, Gunga Din,
      He was ‘Din! Din! Din!
‘You limpin’ lump o’ brick-dust, Gunga Din!
      ‘Hi! Slippy hitherao
      ‘Water, get it! Panee lao,
‘You squidgy-nosed old idol, Gunga Din.’

The uniform ’e wore
Was nothin’ much before,
An’ rather less than ’arf o’ that be’ind,
For a piece o’ twisty rag
An’ a goatskin water-bag
Was all the field-equipment ’e could find.
When the sweatin’ troop-train lay
In a sidin’ through the day,
Where the ’eat would make your bloomin’ eyebrows crawl,
We shouted ‘Harry By!’
Till our throats were bricky-dry,
Then we wopped ’im ’cause ’e couldn’t serve us all.
      It was ‘Din! Din! Din!
‘You ’eathen, where the mischief ’ave you been?
‘You put some juldee in it
‘Or I’ll marrow you this minute
‘If you don’t fill up my helmet, Gunga Din!’

’E would dot an’ carry one
Till the longest day was done;
An’ ’e didn’t seem to know the use o’ fear.
If we charged or broke or cut,
You could bet your bloomin’ nut,
’E’d be waitin’ fifty paces right flank rear.
With ’is mussick on ’is back,
’E would skip with our attack,
An’ watch us till the bugles made 'Retire,’
An’ for all ’is dirty ’ide
’E was white, clear white, inside
When ’e went to tend the wounded under fire!
      It was ‘Din! Din! Din!’
With the bullets kickin’ dust-spots on the green.
      When the cartridges ran out,
You could hear the front-ranks shout,
   ‘Hi! ammunition-mules an' Gunga Din!’

I shan’t forgit the night
When I dropped be’ind the fight
With a bullet where my belt-plate should ’a’ been.
I was chokin’ mad with thirst,
An’ the man that spied me first
Was our good old grinnin’, gruntin’ Gunga Din.
’E lifted up my ’ead,
An’ he plugged me where I bled,
An’ ’e guv me ’arf-a-pint o’ water green.
It was crawlin’ and it stunk,
But of all the drinks I’ve drunk,
I’m gratefullest to one from Gunga Din.
      It was 'Din! Din! Din!
   ‘’Ere’s a beggar with a bullet through ’is spleen;
   ‘’E's chawin’ up the ground,
      ‘An’ ’e’s kickin’ all around:
‘For Gawd’s sake git the water, Gunga Din!’

’E carried me away
To where a dooli lay,
An’ a bullet come an’ drilled the beggar clean.
’E put me safe inside,
An’ just before ’e died,
'I ’ope you liked your drink,’ sez Gunga Din.
So I’ll meet ’im later on
At the place where ’e is gone—
Where it’s always double drill and no canteen.
’E’ll be squattin’ on the coals
Givin’ drink to poor damned souls,
An’ I’ll get a swig in hell from Gunga Din!
      Yes, Din! Din! Din!
   You Lazarushian-leather Gunga Din!
Though I’ve belted you and flayed you,
By the livin’ Gawd that made you,
You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din!

It hasn't gone away. Euros start next week. Then a month's break from actual matches but we'll have blanket coverage of the transfer window gossip and wheelings and dealings to ease the pain.

Anyway, what's wrong with watching the cricket?

You're right, cricket it is then.

I posted an example, there are thousands more, and many more thousands of other people from other religions and other parts of the world that fought as members of the British Armed Forces in WW2.

You should visit the UK done time, especially the NH, there too foreigners are ‘doing their bit’ working at all levels from porter s to consultant surgeons.

The NHS is in crisis now, it was not in crisis 14 years ago.

But go ahead, scape goat immigrants.

What freedoms, the freedom the scream free Palestine and kill the Jews? You get arrested for mis gendering or laughing at peoples preferred pronouns, flying our own flag or calling Hamas terrorists. Our freedoms have been seriously reduced by the left wokerati over the past 15 years, aided by the gutless politicised Police.

Support for Hamas is a crime, for which people do get arrested and do get prosecuted.

Support for Palestinians and protesting the continuing carnage being visited upon Palestinians is not a crime.

I note how who conflate the two.

Still when all is said and done we should be the last people complaining about foreigners coming to live in someone else's country, we too are a different colour from a different culture and religion and a different language and who show, for the most part, a lack of interest in integrating with the local population.

We don't turn up in a leaky boat sans documents and expect a warm welcome.

Cost me a great deal to be legally in Thailand.

A lot of Indians turned up in the UK with British passports, a remnant of British India, Lots of Turks legally in Germany where even the third generation still speak German with a Turkish accent, remnants of the 'guest worker' generation, then there are lots of Arabs legally in France due to their empire in that region, we are just a different form of legal 'migrant'. Migrations of large numbers of people have been ongoing for thousands of years, consider the Anglo and Saxon migrations to England along with Danish (Dane law) and the Normans, a more mongrel nation than ours would be hard to find, genetic studies found that we are more genetically related to Germans than to the Welsh.

A truly insulting statement. The British and their alliies knew exactly why they fought and what they faught for.

I do wish you could refer to the research that shows that you are correct in thinking

1. There was no propaganda to tell people what to think

2. There was no censorship

3. That many British knew Germans personally and realized they were evil after numerous interactions

4. That the education level of soldiers was similar to today and they had their opinions shaped by wide reading

Or, did people believe what they were told?

Plenty of illegal Brits (overstayers) in Thailand. More to the point, Brits in Thailand aren't fleeing war zones and persecution.

Oddly in its fretting over disappearing freedoms and liberty, The Telegraph misses out laws restricting the right to protest and the rightwing calls to remove the UK from the ECHR and European Human Rights laws, which the UK and Churchill played such pivotal roles in establishing in the aftermath of WW2.

1. Plenty of propaganda from both sides - especially Germany - just Google Lord Haw Haw.

2. No censorship in wartime? You're having a laugh.

3. You're having a laugh again!

4. Stop it!

Lots of people did what they were told, but in this case they also knew what had to be done and why.

Your first was disrespectful and this second effort was just a salad with loose-stool dressing.

   That is not true .

The U.K doesn't support any war crimes by any Country .

The U.K is not "happily complicit in war crimes " .

That is a false untrue accusation .

But your Grandparents fought for the freedom for you to tell those untruths

"The U.K doesn't support any war crimes" Really?? What about the British Empire and their atrocities?? What about the way they treated the Irish for 600years?? They tried to stop the Irish from getting their independence, they had to fight and die for it and eventually won it, unlike another country I could mention.

If you ask the people nowadays, Britain would stay in the Union. They can see now the outcome and it will not a good one over the years.

More migrants than ever before, no workforce, poor NHS, rotten infrastructure without subsidies from EU, diminished to a back stage country, clinging on US, no international influence.

To have a say in Europe's future a membership in EU is the only way. I hope Starmer will correct the mistake.🙏

Tripe. Britain was one of the, VERY FEW, net contributors. Do you know what that means?

Any perceived degradation to infrastructure is a direct consequence of the 400B spent on paying the populace during COVID (though remoaners will conveniently overlook that) while the economy is bouncing back. How's things in Germany etc?

Dopey Starmer at the helm would not make a difference during or after COVID. Just shift monies around. Not a Tory, but please don't talk about Labour!

Try again.

When other cultures complain about the Wests infiltration/ influence nothing much is said by the luvvies....When white people have a problem with, for example Islam filtering into the West they are up in arms. It makes logical sense to extrapolate ( yipee I got to use that word) what is happening in, say Britain and be very rightly worried that the cultural landscape may very much change, and not for the better ,if the religious demographic changes from that of a Christian nation..to that of an Islamic one. At some point their influence will become such that policy, societal norms/ mores etc may change. This may already be happening.  Is that not a reasonable take? If not, why not?
