Marine police are asking the public to consider adopting three puppies found onboard repossessed oil-smuggling vessels that had disappeared from Sattahip last week. The boats were later located and towed to a pier in the Songkhla province.

 

On the vessels, police discovered not just eight crewmen but also seven adult dogs and three puppies. The adult dogs, owned by the detained crewmen, were left on the boats with food as they were too aggressive for the officers to capture.

 

The police are only looking for adoptive homes for the three puppies. The crewmen revealed they kept dogs on the vessel for security, as they would alarm them of any approaching strangers while fishing at sea. The police disclosed that one of the puppies had earlier fallen off a boat but was saved just in time. Upon boarding the boats, they found two additional puppies, which they have been caring for until a new home is found.

 

The vessels' unexpected disappearance, while under official custody, has caused some to criticize police's handling of the situation. The boats, seized in March, were manned by crews allegedly implicated in smuggling untaxed oil.

 

Police are yet to trace the boats' owner(s) or release any arrest warrants. Further complications arose when five marine police officers from Sattahip had to be reassigned following the vessels' disappearance.

Then when the appetite grows and more food is needed. Vets bills. Exercise etc etc

Then we have an abandoned dog.

Sterilize them all before giving them away.
