An ice delivery truck overturned and collided with a streetlight in Ratchaburi province, resulting in the deaths of three people. Police suspect the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Surveillance footage confirmed that no other vehicles were involved.

Ritthipol Phonsen, an investigative officer at Thung Luang Police Station, received a report of a six-wheeled ice delivery truck that had overturned near the curve in front of Thung Luang Temple, Moo 2, Thung Luang Subdistrict.

The incident was promptly reported to Naruedom Marasri, Deputy Commander of Ratchaburi Provincial Police, Nakhon Sriwilai, the district chief of Pak Tho, and Kobchok Lektrakool, the chief of Thung Luang Police Station. Along with a doctor from Pak Tho Hospital and rescue personnel from the Pathom Boromrajanusorn Ratchaburi Foundation, they rushed to the scene.

A white Hino six-wheeled truck was found overturned and severely damaged by the roadside. Inside the wreckage were the bodies of Khomsan Kaewpuangmane, 39, the driver, and Lin Ni Thui, 20, a Myanmar national. Another male body, also a Myanmar national, was found but remains unidentified. Nearby, a streetlight was observed to have been struck and severed from its base.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the three deceased were transporting ice from an ice factory in Huai Phai Subdistrict, Mueang District, to various stores in Thung Luang Subdistrict. It is suspected that the driver may have dozed off as the truck approached the curve, causing it to lose control and overturn.

The vehicle then skidded into the streetlight, leading to the instant death of the driver and his assistants.

Police reviewed nearby surveillance footage, which confirmed no other vehicles were involved. "The truck was on its regular delivery route when the accident happened. Given the circumstances, it appears the driver might have been fatigued, which led to this unfortunate event," an officer stated.

Were any of them wearing seat belts I wonder.

Obsolutely going too fast but the truck just flipped over.  Unless the street light struck them, not much there to cause death (Unless electrical shock).

Just another incompetent Thai driver, as usual before clicking on the story I knew a curve would be involved. Note to self beware of curves near temples they seem to cause more accidents than normal curves, must be bad spirits, Hic.

Could it have been speed that caused it to overturn or is it easier for the BIB to say he fell asleep

How do they know he is a myanmar national if he is unidentified?

I suspect the truck was fully loaded and slightly "top-heavy" the speed and center of gravity caused it to topple. An incompetent drive was the major cause. (My opinion)

The moron was probably showing off Thai superiority over Myanmar including how great they are in driving a vehicle to its limits. In this case beyond its limits. RIP the poor immigrant.
