You need to: (1) grow up (2) toughen up (3) grow a spine (4) stop confusing yourself   This is a website for grownups who don't throw hissy fits when someone disagrees wi

Pros and cons?

I think let people react any way they want to react.

I.e. if I write something and I see that 5 people are confused them maybe I think: Should I write it in a different way which makes it clearer?

Or maybe I just don't care.

In general, I like to see reactions to posts, directly at the posts. That helps us all to see right away "good" answers or things people agree with, etc.

I like it.  It's an easy way of highlighting a confusing or misleading post.  I preferred it when it wasn't anonymous, but can understand why that was changed.

It is not really anonymous, the moderators can still see who gives emotions, and who is stalking someone

or the giver just used it because you had a beef with them in another topic.

Giving positive emotions would be a better indication when someone likes your post, but no response would tell you your post was not making any impression, while if you disagree, you actually have to tell why you react in a negative way, and give the person a chance to clear a misunderstanding. Just giving a confused emotion is lazy and in my opinion spineless when it is just because you have a different view for instance in the more political threads.

So exactly how does giving an emotion mean that someone is stalking you?

You cant think of how it can be used? or abused?

IMHO there are some people who are open to discussions. I.e. we could discuss if immigration is good or bad or how much of it is good or bad, certain rules, etc.

But there are members here who would just write all immigration is always bad (just an example). It would not be possible with many of those people to argue i.e. that immigrants who work and pay taxes might be good.

If someone asks a reasonable question or makes a reasonable statement, I am willing to discuss that (if I have time and I am in the mood to do that). But with some people I know any time spent would be wasted. So I don't reply.

I can’t.  You’re the one whining about it so tell us.

Yes, though in the absence of a 'Thumbs down' dislike/disagree option then the Sad, LOL and Confused emoticons tend to get used as alternatives. I don't really understand why there isn't a thumbs down or -1 option, it's supposedly an adult community, not everyone agrees with everything, why can't that be readily expressed?

who is stalking someone

Is this really a problem for anybody to be stalked on an anonymous internet forum?

I am sure there are some people in this forum who don't like me, and maybe they click often on "bad" reactions.

Do I care? No.

Do I try to find out who is stalking me? No. Why should I? I also don't care if a dog on the other side of the road barks.

It comes more down to the mentality of this forum, and all the negativity we are served on daily basis.

Do I care? If I did, I would stop posting, still interesting to highlight the use and abuse of negative emotions. And I seem to get a new record in in recieving them today

I got the confused emoji for saying I like Paul McCartney, amongst other things. I'm not sure what's so confusing about liking Paul McCartney.

I guess some people are easily confused.

I would prefer everyone could see who give which emojis and thus have the ability to make up my own mind who's stalking.

If you knew who had given the confused emoji you could ask them directly.

More important is the removal of the dislike icon.

It was like that before, and it was removed because of people start following each other and made revenge posts and emotions. It is quite a remarkable panel of contributors in here. An eye for an eye,

I think it is bad manners in a way but it is apt when posts are long and meandering or confusing or obscure or whatever. If you feel offended it means you are probably being a bit serious thinking posting the point is important in some way.

It is fantastic, just asking the question gives 12 negative loaded emotions, thank you all for proving my point. and rising as we speak!

much better that everyone knows then they/everyone can come to their own conclusions /make up their own mind and complain to a "moderator" if they feel it's warranted.

Some poeple are far too thin skinned, take offense at any opportunity or are down right paranoid and as such perhaps shouldn't be participating in an online, global, anonymous "discussion" forum.

At least you got the balls to write something, instead of just handing out a spineless emotion! Cred to you, and make it easier to have an healthy debate where we are Not just talking about beer and hookers.

Read my post above.

I think the moderators have better things to do with their times than worry about snowflakes.

I must be careful in my response  but yes they have better things to do that is for sure.

The confusion is probably because you are using the present tense of the verb (like), when it should be the past tense (liked).

Everybody knows that Paul died on November 9, 1966.

P.S., I did not see your original post about Paul McCartney, so if your post was made before November 9, 1966 (quite possibly on the old ThaiVisa board), then your tense would be correct and I deserve a thoroughly good kicking as a penance.

Pros and cons?

Some folks are just easily confused and saddened, offended as well, so maybe an emoji for those who are easily offended would be nice.

Do we need 8 emoticons to add to the confusion ?

Thumbs up 👍

Thumb down 👎

Should be enough to show agree/like/love it or disagree

Thanks 🏆 and Haha 😆 to cover the rest.
