Accident Senior Police Officer Drives Against Traffic, Kills 64-Year-Old Woman in Ratchaburi Crash
With the current focus on road safety, targeting motorcyclists, persistently checking licenses etc, this perp should absolutely be made an example of. Guessing he was too ‘important’ to wait in regular traffic and tried to short cut between lights. -

Crime Suspected Explosive Device Found Outside Phang Nga Governor’s Residence
Picture courtesy of Amarin. Authorities in Phang Nga were placed on high alert after a suspected explosive device was discovered on the evening of 26 June, near the perimeter fence of the provincial governor’s residence. Initial reports indicate that the device, disguised to resemble a rock, contained an operational explosive mechanism with a blast radius of up to 10 metres. Local police, in cooperation with administrative officers and volunteer defence corps (Or Sor), swiftly secured the area. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was deployed to the scene, successfully disabling the device and removing it for further forensic examination by the Central Forensic Science Division. Pol. Col. Weerapong Rakkito, Superintendent of Mueang Phang Nga Police Station, revealed that information obtained during the questioning of a suspect enabled officers to pinpoint the exact location of the device. A comprehensive search of the surrounding area was immediately conducted, with coordinated efforts between police and volunteer teams helping to prevent any potential casualties or damage. In response to the incident, the Governor of Phang Nga has ordered heightened security measures across the province. These include increased patrols in public areas, tourist sites, and government offices. All relevant agencies have been instructed to work closely together to monitor and safeguard key locations. Additional patrol teams have been assigned to urban communities and strategic points across Phang Nga to maintain public safety. Officials have reassured residents that the province remains secure, with strict measures in place to uphold order. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious items or behaviour to local officials immediately. Emergency response teams are on standby 24 hours a day. This incident follows a series of recent security scares in southern Thailand. Police have yet to confirm whether the events are connected. Adapted by Asean Now from Amarin 2025-06-27 -

Report Pattaya's Cannabis Shops Face Uncertain Future Amid Policy Shift
Doubt that...... all I see are empty little shops. There are 10 bars for every one of them. The other thing that the Thais don't seem to like is that many Westerners are getting caught with tens of Kg of the stuff in their luggage, that started off in Thailand. -
