I used to live in Del Mar, but I never went to the track to bet on the races.  I guess I figured it would likely be a losing proposition.

I went to Del Mar once. Got a tip on a long shot pony. The pony won.

I never bet on horses again.

In case you are American, do you really want to be represented by Trump?

Here's a story you probably won't read on lefty media:

In an interview between Sage Steele with Reps. Byron Donalds and Wesley Hunt (all 3 of them being minorities that Trumps has been accused by the Dems of hating), Rep Hunt let on why there was relative peace on Trump’s watch:

“It’s President Trump and Mike Pompeo, and they are talking to Taliban leadership in the room, and they had one translator in the room.”

During these negotiations, President Trump reportedly looked directly at the Taliban leader and warned him, “If you harm a hair on a single American, I’m gonna kill you.”

He then reached into his pocket, pulled out a satellite image of the Taliban leader’s home, handed it to him, and left the room without another word.

“Sure enough, for 18 months, not a single American was killed in Afghanistan,” Hunt said. “That is the definition of strength; that’s what I’m talking about.”

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/07/rep-wesley-hunt-recounts-trumps-legendary-move-threatens/

The story has also found its way around several other un-lefty sources.  You can Google it...

So, yeah.  That's the guy I want representing me, as an American.  Not someone that just says "Don't".  Even if his tweets are mean and he has "proclivities".

I learned my lesson about horse races one time when I was living in NYC and decided one day to go out to Belmont.  That didn’t work out so well.  After that, I stuck to relatively small bets placed at OTB outlets.  That seemed to work better.  I’d bet some money and call up later to see if I won anything.  One time there was a new jockey that seemed to be winning a lot of races, so I bet $10 on a long shot horse he was riding that day.  As it turned out, that bet ended up paying $250 or so.  I had fun that weekend.  This was in 1976, so it was more money back then.

Great, and what does that prove?

For me it shows that one time, or maybe two or three times, he did something in a successful way.

I am sure if you look long enough, you will also find that Biden did one or the other good thing.

What I was referring to above is Trump's everyday behavior. It doesn't matter if I watch CNN or FOX or anybody else, just looking at a typical speech from Trump shows me he is a serial liar. When he hires people he tells everybody they are the best. And often a few months later he fires those people and tells everybody they are losers. Trump behaves often like and ahole and a bully. That might work from time to time. But I don't think that is presidential in any way.

Nope, this is not whataboutism. All those sexual predators guilty of taking advantage of underage girls/children should meet with the full force of the law irrespective of who they are, or do you have a problem with some protected Liberal child molesting glitterati being prosecuted?. The irony is that the Left shouted (actually deflected) from the rooftops that Trumps name was mentioned in the unsealed court filings and it was, a girl was asked if she had ever seen Trump on the Island and she answered "never". Now, when it comes to Bill Clinton and others....................

Sorrry "Must try harder" as teachers used to say.

BTW it may surprise you that I agree with @onemorefarang post above yours. Most know Trump as a game show host but he was previously a property operator and also owned casinos. He basically extracted the cash out of these businesses for himself. So no I don't like Trump, he conducts himself very improperly in business. It is not that I am for Trump in particular, it is more that the Left are worse, and it is not just that they are shielding child molesters.

You are right he does hire and fire but the Democrats hire duds then keep them. The mophead press secretary is a joke. Why not sack the duds?

Just another DEI "reachdown" hire.

I definitely will not vote for President of anyone who hung out with Epstein.

Child molestors is the concept that inflames low information types.

What does politics have to do with chil molestation? If you want to deal with child molestors, start with Nationalist Christian churches, that's where the police catch child molestors.

Could you be more racist?

The racism if any was hiring somebody who ticked the right boxes. While I am here: I am not interested in the opinions of what is racism from people who patrol web boards hoping they can twist and distort something so they can scream "racism!" because that is the only way they can feel superior. John Cleese called you lot out. Got it? NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU THINK IS RACISM.

Nobody I know who is a "minority" has ever called me racist, and their colour or whatever is an irrelevance, but if they did I would take it seriously.

This is old news: someone makes a racist comment and then tries to cover it up.

In the Old Days, racists could get away with it, but not now.

DEI and "woke" are codewords that signify that minorities don't have the capability to do the job, and so "get help" to get hired.

I believe that many of the Biden Govt employees are hired for their race/gender/sexuality first above better qualified candidates. I would also be very opposed to someone who was best qualified being passed over for a job because of race/gender/sexuality.

Just stop projecting that one size fits all political template that was implanted when you got "turned" onto people.

Lefties always play the race card when they have no argument. Mophead lies non stop and her haircut looks like a mop. Nothing to do with race. Hair and lies have no race.

Nope. DEI means just that, Didn't Earn It. I think what is more likely is that very high calibre people who also would have ticked the boxes don't want to serve in the Biden administration.

Correct. He hired blacks to get the black vote after making racist remarks for 30 years. Kamala is an idiot. She has normal hair though.

You are the only one making racist comments. Biden himself is a massive racist. He hired those 2 women to get votes. Neither is any good.

It is normal in an organization that people are hired and fired. But how often, and for which reasons? And then, how do we talk about those people before and after.

With Trump it happened probably at least 20 times that he hired someone and talked about this person as the best ever. Like: I hired the best guy in the world.

And then, often only a few months later, he fires them. And not just like: He is a smart guy, but we had different opinions or something like that. No, when Trump fires people he often calls them losers and idiots and lots of other bad words.

Are there really so many people who are one day very smart and perfect and 3 months later stupid loser idiots? Or does that show us more about the person who hires and fires?

If Trump behaves like that in his private company, fine, that's up to him. But that is not the way a distinguished statesman is supposed to behave.

Imagine what the other leaders of many countries think about Trump. And with Trump they think Americans voted for that guy. They probably don't know if they should laugh about America or cry about it.

Name me 100 heathly 10 to 50yos that died from covid.

Trumps hesitation, thinking he knew everything about Covid, caused many deaths...........I don't think there were many of the ones aged 0-49 that were considered unhealthy..............https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm

Can you name these made up felonies?

Not quite sure why you would need to ask that, when it was accurately reported on by almost every news outlet in the world (reading difficulties, perhaps?) but since you've asked, here it is.

Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsification of business records in the first degree, which is a felony offence.

Because you don't think the 2 black women Biden hired are capable of doing their job.

Because they aren't white.

Do you think Sarah Palin was a capable VP candidate?

But your opinion is based on your attitude, which is warmed over KKK.

You work in a troll farm, you can't be more of an idiot than that.

Based on her career I would say she got promoted way above her capabilities. The question is by who/why.

You have some serious racial animosity there.

Kamala Harris was Attorney General of California and a US Senator.

Sarah Palin was a half term governor of Alaska. But you voted for Sarah Palin for VP.
