Thailand's Rapid Flood Recovery Earns Praise from Prime Minister
The Flood, Storm, and Landslide Disaster Relief Operations Center, operating under Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, has been lauded by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra for effectively managing flood relief efforts in northern Thailand. These efforts, encompassing Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai, focus on quickly restoring normalcy—clearing roads, restoring utilities, and addressing residents' psychological needs. Deputy Interior Minister Teerarat Samretwanich and Deputy Defense Minister Gen. Natthaphon Narkphanit lead recovery operations, prioritising the swift return of displaced residents. Though most areas are progressing well, Mae Sai district still requires additional work to clear mud from systems and homes. Full recovery in these areas is anticipated by month's end. To support recovery, the government has upped compensation, offering 9,000 baht per household, and an extra 10,000 baht for mud cleanup necessities. Over 200,000 households have sought compensation, with verified payouts reaching 86.8 million baht to date. As recovery concludes, economic revitalisation is next on the agenda. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is poised to launch the “Half-and-Half Northern Tourism” project to boost regional tourism. Preparations in Chiang Mai for the tourist season are underway, while Lamphun harnesses water pumps to expedite floodwater reduction, reported The Pattaya News. Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
Right, I think there might be some confusion between what you describe, possibly because you are already registered in the TRD system and voluntarily file returns, vs what the poster WLMC was describing. I understood the requirement for the banks to report "interest" only began in August 2019 : https://sherrings.com/bank-savings-deposits-interest-income-tax-reporting-thailand.html Which is in fact, after the requirement to report 'deposit and transfer' information, for certain groups began in March 2019, as described in user WLMC's post. -

Harris Lies, Americans Die. Illegal Aliens are more Important
Seems like she don't care much about the lives of illegals, either. Ten times as many migrants died in New Mexico near the U.S.-Mexico border in each of the last two years compared with just five years ago as smuggling gangs steer them — exhausted, dehydrated and malnourished — mostly into the hot desert, canyons or mountains west of El Paso, Texas. https://apnews.com/article/immigration-border-deaths-new-mexico-677a6b57e729ca076a0d12dba31c3b70 But that's a price she's willing to pay if they can swing some states purple or even blue... -

So I employed a Thai plumber ...
Yes, I know this is the DIY forum 🙂 We started out with an occasional drip from the valve on the wall under our bathroom sink. It developed into more of a dribble so it was going to need sorting. This is absolutely something I would fix myself but the space is tight and I'm not as young (or slim) as I was, so we got in a recommended "plumber". The guys (three) rolled up on Saturday. The Boss noted that our sink tap was actually a hot-n-cold mixer but hot was isolated (the tube had failed long ago), he asked if I would like the tap to be replaced and hot water restored to the sink. I like warm water to shave so I said yes (mistake number 1). Off they went to get the parts. A couple of hours (and nearly 10k Baht including parts) later the job was done. Excellent! Then! Later in the evening Madam said that the floor was full of water!! We had a definite gush and it was from up near the actual tap. 05ce9887-5026-450b-bdf9-fed69bd96ca1.mp4 Turned off the water at the wall and it stopped, phew! I was less than happy (ok totally pi55ed off). Madam called the plumber and sent them the video. sorry cannot come until Tuesday! We had warm water at the sink so no real problem although cleaning your teeth with warm water is pretty yuk. Tuesday arrived, as did the guys. I'd assumed that they simply hadn't fully tightened the tubes against the O-rings and it would be a 5-minute job. After an hour they determined that the new tap from Thaiwatsadu was faulty. So, they went and got a replacement. It seems Thaiwatsadu wouldn't replace it as faulty, it's not clear why. The reason is never going to get clarified although I suspect that failure to RTFM is in the mix somewhere. So, they've just left, no leaks at present!! We shall see... -

Knowing that there are multiple grades or formulations of Stainless Steel has little to do with working with it. It is easy enough to research and find out for yourself. So CannotBeBotheredToLookThingsUp might be a better change!🤣 -

DNA Analysis Uncovers Grisly Details of Doomed Arctic Expedition
I don't take your comments seriously. You have no evidence the Innuit are or were cannibals. Or that they even discovered the bodies. The Uruguayans had to turn to cannibalism to survive high in the Andes. They later on got a special papal dispensation as they were Catholics. It obviously troubled them deeply what they did, but found forgiveness. Bears and wolves don't use knives to cut up their prey. Somebody did. And the cut marks were found on a jaw bone. So, what's your theory? Just groundlessly accuse the native people who lived on a healthy diet of seal and fish, and we're adept at surviving in that environment without eating each other? Rather than desperate Europeans who were completely unable to fend for themselves in such a harsh environment? -
