Do you hate the Police?

This is not really for expats in Asia but I was watching YouTube seeing protestors against the immigration in the UK being bashed with shields even elderly men.

 

I see people shouting out scum etc to to police 

 

I saw it in Australia too during Covid where police were bashing and manhandling protesters 

 

I was once walking home from work , in 2021 in Australia in the middle of a Covid protest.

I saw a old cop with his back turned standing in front of a raised garden bed 

Suddenly a protestor pushed him into the garden bed arse over.

I stood there and lauged at the old cop as he lay face down in mud 😅 

 

Are we in the Western Countries turning against the police ?

 

British police in particular seem to be government ass lickers !

In UK the new prime minister has got it wrong, people are protesting at the immigration problem, English Defence League attend some protests and it kicks off, apparently now the muslim defence league has formed, trouble ahead, people have had enough

I don't hate the police. I feel sorry for them at the sharp end, having to carry out the politically correct orders from the top brass. And for the type of training that they seem to be given now. Many of them seem to be straight out of college. In my day many policemen were ex-military and behaved as such. You didn't argue or get into a political discussion. It was a whack around the back of your head and "It's Bow Street for you my lad."

Just like the politicians that WE elect to run the country, so in Western democracies we employ the police to do the jobs that need doing but that we don't want to do and are incapable of doing.

 

In both cases - politicians & police - we then spend a great deal of time whining and grizzling about them, accusing them of being corrupt and incompetent. In which case why did we elect THOSE particular people? and why don't WE try doing the cops' jobs instead?

Because those people are (supposedly) trained and paid professionals to handle these situations.

 

What struck me about the fracas at Manchester airport was when the second video emerged of the original confrontation - the perps were clearly not trained fighters and yet the police, despite outnumbering them, simply coluld not handle the situation and that is why it got out of hand.

Nah, they had lost interest in me by 2016, when I was last in the UK. My complaints about them back in 2010 cost £120,000 out of their budget, and they left me well alone after that. Like most bullies, easily frightened off.

Nope. They've got a crap job nowadays, esp in the UK which is a right old mess regards unwanted immigration (typically caused from past governments--Blair!). Many of those cops probably agree with the protesters but their hands are tied. And the MSM (you, BBC) has a tendency to show the dastardly deeds of the local 'mobs' while conveniently keeping quiet on the huge gangs of Gazans/muslims stirring up trouble.

I have respect for the police. They are in a job where they are dealing with the lowest form of pond life, day in day out, with little thanks for it.

There are some corrupt police.

In some countries, this is caused by low salaries. 

I even watched an interview with a NYC cop who started getting involved in drugs. But even the NYC cops weren't paid much several decades ago. Not sure about now.

 

I watch police bodycam videos on Youtube. The police have to deal with very scary situations, being shot at and sometimes killed.

 

It takes a special kind of human being to do that kind of job. They are "freaks" and risking their lives for a paycheck.

 

Most of us are sitting behind computers all day. And complaining? You'd be dead without the police protecting you.

Just read that the Police Force in Western Australia has recruited 500 ex UK police ...

 

The reason why is because no one wants the job to ass lick the Australian Government except the British ,can't wait to see their faces when they are in the outback drunken towns dealing with a certain community 😅

The Australian police use Workers Compensation laws to their advantage.

The old cop I saw who got pushed arse over into the muddy garden bed probably took a year off work on compensation, probably got his brother to push him 😂
