A significant collision involving a large motorbike and a barrier occurred on Khlong Chonprathan Road, but the driver is yet to be found. Only a single shoe remained at the accident spot, even after thorough searches by rescue teams.

Early this morning, at 3.30 am on August 8, the Chiang Mai Provincial Police Headquarters (191) got notified about an accident. A large motorcycle crashed into a roadside barrier near the Mae Hia Agricultural Research Station in Mueang Chiang Mai. Upon receiving this information, officials alerted the Phuping Police Station patrol and the Chiang Mai Rescue Association, who promptly sent an ambulance and divers to the site.

When the rescue team reached the location, they found a large motorcycle with a Chiang Mai number plate lying on the side of the road. Upon closer inspection, they discovered a single sneaker and signs of a collision with the barrier, leading them to suspect that the driver might have toppled into an adjacent irrigation canal. Despite an exhaustive search, the driver has not been found yet.

The Chiang Mai Rescue Association President, Tulip Mahawong, spoke about finding only the motorcycle at the site and no trace of the injured driver. The Rescue association, thus, initiated a water search in the canal, working on the hypothesis that the driver might have been thrust into the water due to the accident's impact.

Even after scrutinizing a 3.3-kilometer long stretch of the canal, no body was discovered. The rescue operation was temporarily suspended because the canal veers underground at a sluice gate, making any further search efforts impractical for the time being.

What and then took the evidence?

Well he left his shoe when he ran. Hit the barrier, maybe drunk, then ran away.

Just a hypothesis.

This seems the most likely place to find the body.

Or maybe a passing motorist picked him up and took him to hospital, or he survived the crash, bike broken and he did a runner?
