Awesome, bloodless coup for the military.  One week's work got rid of MFP and the PM.

No tanks necessary.

Yes it's certainly a continuation of the soft coup approach but sooner or later the hand of the military and it's boss will be forced. The military will have no qualms about shooting Thai citizens that protest the rule of the military and it's boss. The day will come. The soft coup approach will no longer be able to be used.

Despite Srettha’s argument that, as a businessman, he was not familiar with legal intricacies, the court found this defence unacceptable. The court highlighted that Phichit's criminal history was publicly known and that Srettha had sought advice from the Council of State, indicating his awareness of potential qualification issues.

This what happens when you put your trust in the hands of a man from afar Srettha, thought you were smarter

The 'Constitutional Court' seems to hold an awful lot of power. Seems if you get them on your side you can achieve any result you want. Who are its members? What is its intended purpose?

"Section 204 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2550 (2007)
provided that the Constitutional Court consists of the President of the
Constitutional Court and 8 Justices of the Constitutional Court, appointed by the
King upon the advice of the Senate." (my bold emphasis)

https://www.constitutionalcourt.or.th/occ_web/download/article/article_20170312125044.pdf

Recall that the 2007 Constitution allowed only 50% of the Senate to be elected. Following the 2014 military coup that abolished the 2007 Constitution, it wrote a new constitution with 100% unelected 250 senators initially nominated by the military coup leadership but with 50 permanent senators who cannot be removed. In 2024 an unelected senate selection committee replaced the initial 200 senators through an internal "selection process." Again unelected.

It's high time that this country got into power someone that will firstly throw Taksin behind bars where belongs and secondly get rid of those corrupt people in charge,, where's Mr Peta the rightfully elected PM by the people

Constitutional Court?

Wasn't they the same clown show that had no problems with an international heroin smuggler being a minister in Thai politics?

Weren't worried about the watchman's dead friends collection?

Not worried about junta leaders overthrow of multiple elected governments?

Until the populace grow a pair I guess you reap what you sow and it's hard for me to feel sorry for any of the liars and hypocrites in this latest installment.....

Did Thaksin throw Srettha under the bus or make a huge mistake?

Exactly !!  They have learned that tanks coming in and them sorting it out, only ever results with the same problem (Democracy) happening again. So they learned that what was needed was to change the Institutions and appoint the right people in them, and thereby make them capable of doing the work that their tanks did previously.  MFP/Pita gone. Thaksin depositioned.  Who will they put in place next. Me thinks a 'compromise' person not embedded with PT, but one proven to be willing to go along with their agenda in return for political power - Anutin?  I know he is 'problematic' to many in PT and will probably not get the nod, but Bhumjaithai played it smart/clever and the Party has got a lot of 'aligned' Senators appointed and therefore he has some real political power/influence behind him.

Didn't the former Prime Minister (Prayut) appoint a convicted heroin dealer to his Cabinet, but the same Constitutional Court let him off? Apparently it only matters if the conviction was in Thailand, not in another country (Australia in this case). The actual issue of moral misconduct (e.g. was it responsible to  for Prayut to appoint such a disreputable character) seems irrelevant.

Yep - it was ruled that he was not guilty of a criminal offence in Thailand, and that he was innocent because Thailand's criminal justice system is so much better and fairer than the totally corrupted system in Australia.

.. he did not know that you have to pull up your pants after toilet visit..

Clearly Srettha was set up by the 'undisclosed individual' who advised him to include Phichit in his cabinet. After following that advice he was never going to be in office for very long.

Just wondering what happens nw with the guy who has been a full minister but did some 8 years in Jail for various serious drug offences.

Opinions / comments welcome.

Guilty of ethical misconduct?! That's laughable! Show me a politician anywhere in the world--and especially Thailand, that not guilty of that!

3rd world Thailand at it again.

The Military hates the Taksin clan.

I guess that's why they had him beheaded...  🤔
