Down under or Thai? Aussie mum trades Oz for Land of Smiles
You can buy a house in Australia for $1.2M AUD, but would need to be out in the Western Suburbs, l guess she did not wish to be that far 30-40 kilometres from the Northern suburbs where a lot of snobs live. 🥲 -

Spreaders of Conspiracy Theories: Unmasking the Motivations Behind the Lies
It's only viewed that way in the US by the hard right. Some would say greed is a disease. Certainly obesity which the US is stuffed to the eyeballs with, is. And drug use. Junk 'n drugs. Great nation you have there. And I'm not even an American, or Western, hater. I rank the 50s and 60s in the US as 2 of the greatest decades in recent bistory. Well, I was born in 1950, so I guess I would, wouldn't I? I value European culture. I think it's man at his utmost. I read missives from the western haters, who to a person, are westerners, everyday on these forums. But have they been to Florence? Venice? Chartres? How dare they describe the west as "decadent" as Medvedev did? It's their homeland! The Jews were being given a hard time in Europe since way back when - the 14th century? Nothing to do with Marxist Leninism. Many Jews became prominent socialists and communists. And if you think I'm a Stalinist, think again. I don't knowingly support any anti Jewish movement. I have the utmost respect for Jews, their humour, their intelligence, their strength. But of course there's a catch, which is that, when converted to nationalism, it becomes a whole different ball game, unfortunately. But the UK appeared to face annihilation also this century, but was spared, miraculously. I'll not forget the US's part in that. Ever! -

Thai visa shake-up: Southeast Asia consulates switch to e-visa only
How is your personal information anymore at risk with the revised procedure compared to the current format? I appreciate your valid concern for cyber security risk. However, the risk with the changes is most likely less than what you are exposed to under the current visa processing format. Consider this; The e-visa data is going to be forwarded electronically to Thailand for processing and record keeping. It will go to the same immigration data processing center that gathers your passport and biometric information when you enter Thailand. If anything, the new procedure might actually offer better personal information protection and reduce the potential for corruption. Local officials will not easily be able to offer visas or expedited service for a personal "fee". There will be greater oversight of the process and a more thorough capability to screen visitors to Thailand. Consider that when you file a visa request at a local consulate, the local staff (some of whom are Thai and some of whom are contract local workers) can access your documents. They can make copies of personal information. If their ability to handle such documentation is eliminated, then the likelihood of their stealing data is reduced too. -

Tips on dealing with the regional SSA office in Manila
I have used the drop down menu in the past but I can’t seem to find it on their website. Not sure if it’s no longer available or I just can’t find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks TB -

White Culture
Of course, but what I meant is that if I leave the country for more than 26 weeks in a year they cancel my pension entirely. Then I get zero. I did the 26 weeks thing for many years, but too old to be messing around like than now. It's either there or here and I can't afford there without a pension. -
