Sleeping Habits

So this a Lounge topic.

I'm a get into bed assume the fetal position, knee's up head down and I'm out in my little 3ft space on the bed kinda guy.

My wife on the other hand is awful. Writhes around can't stay still, the reason we have a king sized bed is to allow her this frenzied  nighttime sleep  pattern without waking me up.

20+ years ago we had a queen sized bed and she'd actually whack me in her sleep, so distance was and is required.

We somehow conceived a child in there but I think I came out with bruises!

So which are you or you partners?

Is that you Gamma ?   Such a similarities,…

I’m a go to sleep kind of guy & hope I don’t fluk the wife by accident….   I fear the additional school fees !!!

Though realistically, She’s a nuclear reactor who sets the AC to  -20, then wraps herself up in a winter duvet & brumates….

I would prefer that, but Mrs G is a bit old fashioned and she's pretty set that married folks sleep together.

She doesn't realize what a nightmare she is to sleep with!

I wait til the misso is asleep... then I drop the AC to 25.

she hates it, wakes and goes sleep on the lounge.

Getting sleep is really important, body repairs itself while asleep. I always find girls want to hold me which makes me even hotter so hard to sleep.

Maybe 2 single beds is the answer, my aunt and uncle used to sleep like that

we've been brainwashed to think that a married couple has to sleep in the same bed.

a bed can be used for sex and then people can sleep in separate beds.

sleep and sex are 2 different things.

I don't like sleeping with someone on the same bed. there's a much greater risk of sleep being interrupted, either you interrupt their sleep or vice versa.

Buy a better mattress.   We don't feel the other moving at all while sleeping.  Best sleeps ever since buying a quality mattress.   Not cheap, but worth every baht.

Well you could be right there.

But, ever tried to debate logically with a Thai wife?

I'll put up with a King sized bed and exist in my 3ft space on the edge of the bed rather than engage in a full scale debate with my wife....I never win!

People can still hug as much as they want up to sleep time, then sleep separate, makes sense to me

I work shift work, wear a CPAP mask and fart a lot.

No we don't sleep together.

My wife snores loudly, she now has a bed in the TV room which is now 'her' room, sometimes I can still hear her through the wall...................

Shift worker get it the hardest especially if your one week day shift

One week as afternoon, one week night shift

People in the real world have no idea if what shift work is like

I spend a lot of years living solo and got into the habit off sleeping in the middle of the bed much to the amusement of the odd stay over guest, well the truth is I use to do that when I was married too, ex learned to sleep on the edge of the bed, the live in TGF pretty much fights me most nights over who should be in the centre...like it amuses me as she wants to cuddle up but hey she wants me on my edge of the bed...

I worked shifts most my life.  Inport I would work each shift 3 days and then have an 8 hr turn around for next shift, 7 days a week. Or at sea it was 4 on and 8 off with OT somewhere in between.

Nah, just have go with your body's time schedule.  Decide when to sleep.   When I worked 3rd shift 10pm-6am, I'd get home by 0630, out of shower,

Fire up the grill on the large porch, pull a pint, and watch the folks going to work at the small factory across the street from the house.   Looks on their faces were priceless ... "damn that boy has the life"  :cheesy:

Sometimes by their noon break, I'd still be there, with a few of my out of work friends who drove by, and we got a bit of a party going.   If I didn't have to work that night, we might still be going at it, when they get done work at 1600 hrs 🍺

Shift work is interesting.

Back in the day, I worked the overnight shift.

Got home at 6am, my wife went to work, I'd get the kids ready, breakfast and take them to school, then I'd head to bed.

Can't say it was my favorite period of my life, but my girls grew up with Dad at hone with them, so it worked out and I lived to fight another day
