How much of a break do you think the Ex President deserves?

The real question is whether Trump should pardon Biden when the new DOJ rejects the recommendations of the Hur report.  And there's no Dem controlled senate standing firmly in the way of impeachment.

 

So far, the Supreme Court is pardoning Trump, and the appeals process will do the rest.  He won't need a pardon.

Personally no.......rich people all over the world literally get away with murder because their position and wealth.

 

However, it might be a smart move to pardon him in the interests of the US generally.

I don't think he should be pardoned. But if anyone will, it will be biden on his final day in office.

Harris is a criminal prosecutor. Not too many around that are soft on crime, or issue pardons.

Why would Trump need a pardon, or even a commutation of sentence (jail) since not sentences for anything yet, and doubtful jail time will be in any sentence.  If so, on indefinite appeal till it gets to the SCOTUS.

The Jan 6 insurrection, fake electors, and theft of top secret documents are all serious criminal matters.

 

I suppose you are confirming how screwed up the American legal system is. In many countries, Trump would be in jail already.

The beauty of USA, innocent till proven guilty, with appeal process to make sure any conviction was legal.  

 

Only the final appeal decision matters, not the prosecution in the press
