Glad to see we still have some patriots in the Republican party. But should it really be that tough to put country over party? More than 700 national security leaders have said that only Harris has the temperament and values needed to serve as commander-in-chief. They also said Trump posed a threat to both national security and America's democratic system.

And why would anyone vote for an ex-president judged to have been the worst in history at the job?

Well put below from your linked source:

"In a statement first published by Fox News, the GOP trio said the 2024 election “presents a stark choice that is not easy for any of us” because the Republican Party exemplified by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, longtime Kansas senator Bob Dole, and “generations of Kansas leaders” no longer exists within the Trump-era version of the GOP. [emphasis added]

“But, it requires Republicans speaking out and putting country over party when those values are at stake,” they said, adding, “No candidate is perfect, and we do not pretend that we subscribe to all the policy positions taken either by the national parties or any individual candidates.”

It's amazing to me how little influence "reasonable" Republicans have on the party as a whole. Probably 90% of Republicans are flat Earth ears these days, metaphorically speaking.

  • Popular Post

It just means that the Democratic Party has become the war party.  I remember it when it was the anti-war party.  Not anymore.  All this also shows is that the Republican and Democrat parties ARE the US Uni-party.  Same party, same ideals.  All the public show of so-called "differences" is just 🐂💩 buffalo excrement and kabuki theater.

More like they put their pockets over party and country to support Harris.

By reasonable you mean leftist, correct?

Probably 90% of Democrats are on the verge of mental breakdowns because they believe the conspiracy theory that the actual "reincarnation of Hitler" is going to throw them into concentration camps in 2025 if he becomes the US president.  Therefore "he must be stopped my all means possible" because "you can't let Hitler come to power."
Well, it may become a self-fulfilling prophesy in that case maybe.  🤔

Former Senator Kassebaum is 92 year old. She is financially well off and does not need any more wealth. On the contrary she has been giving it away. Her roots as a principled Republican are in her DNA.  Her father was Alfie Landon the Republican Governor of Kansas from 1933 to 1937 and the 1936 Republican nominee for president. She is the widow of former Tennessee  Republican  senator, Reagan & Bush  loyalist and diplomat Howard Baker. Her voting record was conservative on defense and fiscal issues, but progressive on  social issues. She was also known for her bipartisan efforts.

Now tell us again, why she is profiting and how she is profiting from  staying true to her  princples?

It's pretty sad when a so called 'poltiical party' is so full of lemmings and cult worshippers that it's considered a big deal when a handful of them don't tow the party line.

  • Popular Post

Even a low information Trumper may pause and ponder why so many Republicans are endorsing Harris this time.

And why so many Trump appointees won't vote for him in 2024.

She can do speaking engagements to Democrats about how she sold out to someone like Harris.

It's not like Harris is a better candidate than Trump- IMO she's a rotten creature of the Washington "swamp" as much as Biden or Clinton are, which is no reason to support them.

Perhaps they may find their choice leads to them being replaced in the election, which would be ironic.

Judged by whom, and are they fit to make that judgement?

There are many millions that disagree.

As for a reason to vote fro Trump- the end of the Ukrainian fiasco would be a good start. Closing the border to illegals would also be a reason. Apparently Harris agrees that a wall is a good idea, and we know who to thank for the start on that.

I know you're not American and may be exclused for lack of American civics education but inciting an attempted insurrection is completely disqualifying. You're acting aa if he is a normal candidate and this is about normal policy differences. No. It is about democracy vs. autocracy. The Republicans standing with Harris are indeed choosing country, constitution, and democracy. I do realize though this will fall on deaf ears and you will continue to simp for Trump and Putin.

Trump wants Ukraine to surrender.

Trump let in 3 million illegals when he was president.

All Presidents have built walls between the US and Mexico. Trump promised a coast to coast wall that Mexico would pay for.

Estimates from immigration and research groups put the total number of these immigrants in a range between 11 million and 17 million.

It sounds like you wish the mainstream political class in America would just disappear.

Why aren't you similarly concerned about the Powers That Be in Russia or China?

I don't want them to disappear, but I would like them to stop messing the world up. Mess up the US by all means but stop messing up everywhere else. Chile, Nicaragua, etc

The powers in Russia and China have done far less damage than those in America for most of my lifetime. Since the Vietnam debacle it's been US wars and chaos. The last "good war" was Korea and that one is still only in hiatus. Eisenhower knew what he was talking about when he warned us about the MI complex, but no one listened or did anything about it.

Let's see:

Russia engaged in two wars in Chechnia that devastated Grozny;

The war with Georgia;

And the disaster in Ukraine.

But that doesn't bother you?

Judged by whom? I guess you didn't read the whole post...that means checking out the links.

Since it doesn't seem you are an American (apparently you love Russia & China) here's a little lesson on the US-Mexican border.

A response characterized by its envy, bitterness and general rudeness.

The former Senator and volunteer has not sold out to anyone. To sell out , she would have to have been paid by the other party and her detractors have nothing with which to  substantiate their vile claim.  She has principles, something the Trump collective does not understand. To them, they judge others using their own value system, a system characterized by greed and selfishness.

Former Senator Kassebaum is not endorsing Biden, not Clinton, neither of whom is a candidate for President.

On what basis is she a "rotten creature of the Washington swamp? The woman  hasn't  lived in   DC in over 25 years.

It is so revealing that when Trump cultists disagree with anyone, they never have anything factual, just baseless insults.  The former Senator is recognized for her community service, and considered a treasure  of her state.

So for every old has been Republican that comes out against Trump, there’s a million that support Trump, and ten Democats that come out against Harris, but none of them make the news.

Any old has-been Republcan can get a bit of the attention they crave coming out against Trump.
