Indian Woman Strips in Defence Against Theft Claim

An intense scene unfolded in Udon Thani, Thailand, when a dramatic argument erupted at a motorcycle repair shop over a missing sum of 3,000 baht. The dispute involved a local man, Mr. Thanabodin, and Ms. Aziza, a 23-year-old Indian national, sparking curiosity and concern among local residents.

 

Police were called to the scene when Mr. Thanabodin accused Ms. Aziza of stealing the money from his yellow cloth bag, which he had placed on a swing while assisting with repair work.

 

Aziza, who had visited the shop to fix her bicycle tyre, firmly denied any wrongdoing. The argument intensified, with Thanabodin alleging that Aziza had been the only person near his belongings when the money went missing.

 

To decisively prove her innocence, Ms. Aziza took an unprecedented step: she began to strip in front of police officers and bystanders to demonstrate she had nothing to hide.

As she removed her clothes, police and witnesses urged her to stop, suggesting a more discreet search. Eventually, the search moved to the privacy of the shop's bathroom.

 

Thanabodin explained he noticed the money missing when he checked the bag while the repairs were ongoing. "When I opened the bag, I found that three 1,000 baht notes were missing, only some hundred and twenty baht notes were left.

 

I thought that this woman had definitely stolen my money and when I asked her she yelled that she didn’t take it, so I called the police," he recounted, reported THai Newsroom.

 

The unusual incident highlights the complexities and cultural nuances in resolving disputes, especially in foreign lands. With no money found on Aziza, the case remained unsolved at the time of reporting, leaving lingering questions about the missing cash. Authorities have continued to investigate, seeking clarity amidst the finger-pointing and allegations.

Nothing wrong in stripping to prove your innocence... against allegations. We all at times are asked to strip open our bags during travel... (happened with me at Bali airport few years ago) and even clothes... yea... she did with everyone around her... may be she felt offended much... 

Atleast she is not guilty of stealing the money...

So she was falsely accused and "defamed" - if it was the other way around she'd be arrested and getting sued.

And the 3,000 baht probably never existed in the first place (or his wife took it before he left home).

Perhaps she did take the money but when the nice policeman took her to the bathroom he was more interested of the other things she was showing him instead of looking for the cash. Or perhaps she bribed him in the bathroom to turn a blind eye to the cash. Hmmm.. Hard to say what happened in the bathroom with her and the cop alone.

That wouldn't surprise me one bit. I once had a girl back into my car in the parking lot at Lotus. I called for my insurance inspector, and rather than admit her guilt, she insisted on having a policeman come to decide who was guilty. The cop asked us both to come to the police department to settle the matter, and before departing Lotus the girl asked for the cop's cell phone number. Guess what.....nobody but me showed at the police station. They probably hooked up in a short time motel.

A number of times my money has gone missing and I've been tempted to blame my wife. However, it usually turns up sooner or later in a shirt pocket, or somewhere else I have misplaced it.

See now one can see what is happening All the time ,,,,Always guilty until one can Prove that one is innocent.

It's not what the Law says , one is Innocent until proven guilty .

Never believe that for one second.

Just while we're on the subject of cultural nuances...

 

On a couple of occasions, I have asked a vendor whether I might have given them a larger bill than they gave me change for. Mind you, I merely asked, uncertain whether the correct change  had been given or not, and certainly didn't expressly accuse anyone of shortchanging me.

 

On both occasions, my inquiries were met with absolutely explosive indignation with the vendor broadcasting her outrage to everyone in earshot. On one occasion, having a way to reconcile my expenditures once I got home, I realized that I was mistaken, and I went back the next week and profusely apologized to the vendor. Suffice it to say, that the vendor did not take my apologies very graciously, and one week later was still was acting like I was some sort of a flimflam artist, even though I was a longtime and good customer. 

 

I know in the village I live in, if someone accused someone of stealing money like in the article, a lot of people (especially women) would be down at the police station filing defamation complaints, and demanding compensation for their damaged reputations and public apologies.
