Nothing wrong with seeing people as they are, but negative comments here never look good for all foreigners.

It's one of the persistent forum myths that Thais are reading comments here. They never have, and don't. If so, then you should worry about the constant bigoted, negative, Thai-bashing comments. Negative comments about negative farang behavior they can understand and agree with, happy that farang aren't supporting such behavior, as indeed they often do with a barrage of excuses and whataboutism.

Remember there are many locals who are already prejudiced against any foreigners. Adding fuel to any fire doesn't make things go well.

Negative comments from farang about negative behavior by other farang makes things go better. Thais can be a little more reassured that good farang recognize and condemn the problem and don't encourage other farang to do the same.

Nah, that's not how things work in reality, the Thais pretty much tar us all with the same brush, as far as they are concerned we are all much the same and at best we are tolerated, nothing more. In their view , we fall into one of three groups,  bad farangs, those who have not yet been caught, and clueless short term tourists ripe for exploitation.

Bigoted, paranoid nonsense.

They do read comments here. There are locals that understand and read English, and they can tell others. Also easy to translate anything. Negative comments make nothing go better. The opposite is true, and it also has some bolster their prejudice against certain nationalities, as anyone can see every day here. Lots of things influence others, especially those who are weak to begin with. The KKK gets new recruits very year because someone convinced them they need to follow them. Don't assume because that also keeps you closed minded. Some people tell things exactly how they are and it's not bashing if it's true experiences. That does mean you don't lump all into one category, which is what I've been talking about all along. Again, it's best just to say nothing.

Again, I'm seeing you maybe don't realize just how many people have criminal records, some perhaps in your own family, and certainly  in your circle of friends, although you might have never known this. And you may have missed when I said, you buying women here in some cases might be against the law, but since you haven't been arrested , yet, you don't have that criminal record. You only have control over your own life, and can't decide what happens to anyone on this earth. You might want to change your screen name to Mr. Rogers.

What a strange response,   considering you yourself have stated that there are "good and bad foreigners"  earlier in this very thread  So basically we agree on that , as presumably you accept that the Thais feel the same way.   And as for naive tourists getting exploited are you really saying it never happens ?   Wake up man for gods sake  never a day goes by without incidents involving tourists being scammed        So not bigoted ,not nonsense, and not paranoid.    next

Well there is a Catholic Church there.

Can't see them making much of a dent in that ****hole to be honest.

Not knocking it or saying it applies to everyone but Pattaya attracts the lowest forms of life.
