You correct the Republicans do not have a super majority, thank you for your correction.

I must have read different reports, I thought they won the presidential election including the popular vote, and have majorities in the senate and the house. That sounds like a super majority to all but the nit pickers.

I wouldn’t presume his blessings, but you might want to hope he spares some for the UK too.

We'll certainly be needing them until the next election.

Beware the peril of hubris.

66.5+/- million Americans did not vote for Trump. Their concerns and views should not be ignored

But assuming the elites didn't just put Trump in power without counting any of the votes.

True democracy doesn't exist.

That's precisely the point. No matter who is in charge and what decisions are made, there will always be a large part of the population that won't agree with it.

So true "democracy" where everyone supports their leader and every decision that is made is impossible.

So Kamala should have won? Then what would you be doing to make sure Trump fans are contented?

Let me guess. Nothing?

Perhaps the same reports I read, but a super majority is a specified number of seats in both senate and congress for specific legislative acts that cannot be passed with a simple majority.

The Republicans have a simple majority which will effectively give Trump unchecked legislative freedom over everything except those acts requiring a super majority.

Silly comment. Ok 64.5 +/- million Americans did not vote for Trump but the undeniable fact is that a whole lot more than 65 +/- million DID  vote for Trump and lots of blue flipped red.

I seem to remember Biden not being very cosy with the UK  due to his claimed Irish heritage,   Trump on the other hand has never shown any dislike, he even owns a golf course in Scotland

The bad actors are already present on the stage, they arrived during the Biden administration

Your fears are unfounded and you apologies are not required

There is no super majority, you are making that up.

You have no credibility.

No "super majority"? Wins popular vote. Wins Electoral College. Controls the House, Controls the Senate. As it turns out I previously posted exactly this as my prediction of the outcome in the 2024 US Presidential Election.

As a US citizen, I am not only surprised but extremely disappointed that Trump will be our next president. But more than that, I am sad that about half of the voters voted for him. I just can't understand how anyone would feel comfortable supporting Trump as president, but obviously, many did. I have a great deal of dread about what effect his presidency will have on our country and, because of the large number of his supporters, the general state of our nation.

An end to identity politics as a political strategy, hopefully.

Good summary of the Dems IMO. saved me the trouble of writing it myself.

@RobertMSterling

I have yet to see a single liberal on Twitter or cable news display the slightest modicum of introspection. They’re quick to blame men, white women, Latinos, Putin, Elon Musk, “fascists,” disinformation, and all their other regular scapegoats. But not a word about the DNC short-circuiting the primary process. Or Biden staying in the race far longer than he should have. Or the White House and the media colluding to cover up Biden’s deteriorating faculties. Or Kamala simply being a thoroughly mediocre candidate. Or Tim Walz being a categorically awful running mate. Or the Democratic platform being unpalatable to working-class voters. Or inflation being a valid and painful concern for middle-class families. Or kamikaze woke activists being a singularly destructive political force. They are so convicted of their own righteousness as to believe that their policies and their standard bearers are above reproach. Democrats can never fail American voters; American voters can only fail Democrats. There is hence no need for introspection, self-reflection, or modifications to their strategies, because these things are already perfect. The only imperfect things here, in their minds, are you and me. We are flawed, we let them down, and it’s incumbent on us, not them, to do better. They haven’t learned, and they likely never will learn. Let them enjoy the next four years.

Let's hope this is the end of Wokeism, DEI, Identity politics, critical race theory, censorship, positive discrimination, trans lunacy etc.

The people of America have clearly spoken. They've had enough of it.

Musk buying X was the best thing that happened in a long time. Thanks Elon.

This is exactly the BS rhetoric pushed heavily by the Harris team and perpetuated by the legacy media that the voting public of the USA rejected yet you and others still push it. It's now time to STFU and see what comes to pass in the future.

The ICBMs are far more likely to remain in the bunkers now,  Although  the lefties and woke will never agree, Americas negotiating powers are far higher with a man in charge especially with muslim countries and those, like Russia who have not yet been infected with wokeness.

By promising a “golden age,” Trump is undoubtedly leaning on his signature gold-plated, made-in-China merchandise. These items serve as both luxurious memorabilia and support for a grifter needing funds to cover mounting legal bills:

  • Gold Watches: Flashy timepieces branded with Trump’s name.
  • Gold-Plated Coins: Collectibles often bearing his image or key events.
  • Gold Sneakers: Luxury footwear for fans of his persona.
  • Gold Cufflinks: Presidential-style accessories.
  • Gold Bars (Replica): Symbolic golden “souvenirs.”
  • Gold-Plated Trading Cards: Limited-edition cards featuring Trump.

Future bling will reportedly include signature golden shower accessories.

These items are a testament to his consistent marketing strategy, which blends patriotism with the allure of luxury, mainly targeted to the poor elderly — just in time before he cuts their healthcare and pensions.

Trump's Morning After Press Statement:

"We were WINNING... then, out of nowhere, we were LOSING! The Marxists and Dominion did it! Cheating EVERYWHERE!"
"They used Dominion to change votes, stuffed mail-in ballots, let non-citizens and even the dead vote, dumped ballots at night, blocked poll watchers, and ran illegal ballot harvesting!"

After being declared the winner:
"Thank you, America! What a fair and honest election!"

This should be a lesson for the Dems .

Do not nominate candidates based solely on their gender and race .

Biden was elected based on his running mate being a female and Black .

But that backfired when it came to her running for POTUS as the job seemed to be beyond her capabilities

A perfect example ( as if any more are needed) of the obvious failings of the quota system

Well apparently the libs on this forum are weak and need to be told by authorities how to interact with society.  Definately apparent during covid and the petrified response to the election on this thread.   When did the democrats become eunuch's.  Calm down libs and I seriously doubt much will change in the next 4 years.  Maybe Donald will surprise me but definitely not worried in the least at the moment.

Yes, it does appear I am now a "member of a minority group," but not a small one. The total votes aren't in yet, but it looks now like Trump will win the general vote, but only by a few percentage points (51% to 48%?). Also, those are only the counts of those who voted, and that usually doesn't include about 100 million citizens who didn't vote.

But, I agree the Republicans will be in charge of at least two of the three branches of government, and maybe even all of them. This makes me sad, and I don't at all look forward to what the USA will become in the future.
