Be fair. Those assaults were 25+ years ago. It was a different era. They would not  get a pass if they did it now.

Sexual assault is a part of the Egyptian culture, so he may have believed he was doing anything wrong.

In Egypt, sexual harassment is a major public threat against women for which there has been no sustainable policy or practice. Such harassment can range from verbal to physical—the latter of which can lead to severe harm and, in some cases, murder. According to a 2013 United Nations report, nine out of ten Egyptian women have been sexually assaulted—ranging from simple harassment to rape. This demonstrates a real problem that requires rapid and sustainable solutions, policies, and advocacy work. There has been extensive public discussion on the topic for the last couple of years, and the state has denied the breadth and severity of the problem.

Something as simple as a sharp pencil can be very effective in these kinds of situations. It can be inserted into a wide range of bodily areas and can lead to massive reform of an errant, ignorant, abusive man who does not know how egregious his crime really is. It can change his life.

It does not matter where this man is from, it does not matter if there are cultural differences, what matters is that there is never an excuse for physical sexual assault or non consensual groping.

I suggest five years in a Thai prison where his fellow inmates will befriend him, and teach him how offensive uninvited groping truly is.

That may be so but it does not excuse deplorable behaviour in another country who was hosting him, right or wrong it was very wrong and he should be dealt with severely fined heavily and deported forthwith, sexual assault is unacceptable in any country, women should be able to walk through life without some lowlife scroat treating her with abject disrespect.

I agree with you, and I never meant to justify sexual harassment or, let alone, sexual assault.

They don't record an address on entry. But I guess a TM 30 tied to a passport photograph, and then a match via....what? AI? Matching that blurry CCTV capture could be problematic.

Anyway, for me the mystery remains unanswered.

Yes, I was indeed thinking of the TM30 giving details of the foreigner's location.

BTW, AFAICS the "blurry CCTV" looks to be pixelated for privacy rather than blurry so I expect that the BIB have a clearer version?  Immigration also has fingerprints on file and I expect that he may have left fingerprints at the scene?

I understand that and apologise if I sound as though I was chastising you, it was not my intention

I hope he is convicted of sexual assault and sentenced to at least two or three years in a Thai prison, where he will learn the true meaning of intimacy, one can almost guarantee he will never again be the same man.

He done in Thailand what North Africans do in Europe.

It always surprises me how the police are able to identify a suspect from a video clip. Who identifies him? Who knows him? How did they trace him?

it's called an investigation.. It's something new the police are trying out.

He is or will be screwed

He should just have paid for it if he wanted to.. instead of taking it by force ..lol🤣

I thought maybe they met in the bar and he followed her up. But maybe they left out those details.

How much trouble is he going to get for giving them a squeeze ?

So many women, in so many bars and the idiot assaults a non prostitute in a lift.

its gonna cost him much more than just paying for sex would have done.

He's too insecure for that. He just needed to validate himself.

Why assume she's are bar-girl ???...       Are you one of those who think every female here is available to you ?

... As far as how much trouble..

An Indian fell slapped a girl on the bottom in walking down the middle of Walking street last year - it cost him 200,000 baht.

Nope. I meant a night club or something

How times have changed. I am 40 years old. I can only imagine what Pattaya was like in the 80's. Bottom slapping was probably happened all the time and nobody thought anything of it
