A sudden U-turn by a six-wheel truck led to a multi-vehicle accident involving a trailer truck, two pickup trucks, and a motorcycle on Thepkrasattri Road in Phuket on the morning of November 26. The crash also caused damage to a commercial building nearby.

Police investigator Pol. Sub. Lt. Thanom Thongpan of the Thalang Police Station received a report of the accident near Khun Mae Ju Restaurant in Thepkrasattri sub-district at approximately 09:20. Upon arrival, officers found a six-wheel truck from Nakhon Pathom parked near the scene. The driver, 34-year-old Nattapon, was present at the site. Also at the scene was a trailer truck registered in Phuket, loaded with crushed stone, which had veered out of control and collided with vehicles parked in front of the restaurant.

The impact caused significant damage to two pickup trucks and one motorcycle, all bearing Phuket registrations. A portion of the building’s glass façade was also shattered. The driver of the trailer truck sustained injuries and was transported to Thalang Hospital by emergency responders from the Thepkrasattri Subdistrict Administrative Organisation.

Initial investigations revealed that the six-wheel truck made an abrupt U-turn across Thepkrasattri Road (inbound) from the outbound lane near the restaurant. This maneuver forced the trailer truck, traveling inbound, to brake suddenly and swerve, leading to the collision with parked vehicles and the building.

CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the six-wheel truck completing its turn moments before the crash occurred. Authorities have summoned Nattapon to the Thalang Police Station for further questioning and legal proceedings.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the extent of negligence and liability in this incident.

Just another day in paradise with a souped up driver

Oh when will the authorities wake up and realize this could have easily caused innocent fatalities, that stupid u-turn driver needs to never be allowed to drive again, and if possible, never see sunshine again!

Exactly.

The truck on the right side is just an innocent victim.

Because of the stupid turn by another(from the left), the driver had to make an evasive movement.

But not enough space for him.

So his vehicle crashed into the building.

Lucky  none of the vehicle was carrying high flammables(e.g. LPG).

Reminds me of the BKK Gas Explosion in 1990.

This accident was depicted in a ghost movie.

Thais think that they can simply pull out in front of other traffic and all will be ok. Witness this at U-turns as shown here, or people pulling out of side roads directly into traffic. Total nightmare. The authorities need to properly sanction and fine these reckless, dangerous offenders.
