How much can you trust AI

Featured Replies

Due to a thread where Greta Thunberg was mentioned as owning 8 cars, I entered 2 questions in Google, and below are the answers I got from Google AI.

Amazing, isn't it?

The AI apps we see today were trained largely in Internet content, bth good and crazy.  They just set the bots loose and let them read everything and interact with people.  So for some topics, the AI "knowledge" can be garbage in, garbage out.  Or at least there's that danger.   But it's all improving by the day and is now really amazing.

Another thing to look out for is that the results of an AI search are often skewed by politics and censorship, so if the topic is controversial, take the results with a grain of salt.

Try Perplexity.  I think it's better than Google.  Ask it anything and you get an answer within seconds, with references.

AI is a machine based device for analysing millions of pieces of data and coming up with a response according to it's programming. AI as it is now is not autonomous and independent.

It's not the AI that is to be trusted or not.

Only when AI becomes autonomous will that question will be relevant, though when it happens I hope it is not in control of any weapon systems.

There seems to be quite a variety of quality among AI google wannabes.

I like https://www.perplexity.ai/ because they cite 3 sources for each response provided, so users can decide for themselves if it can be trusted.  It has completely replaced google searches for me and I am quite happy with that.

Are there many people in the psychiatric ward where you live?

Using CoPilot.   Who is georgegeorgia?

George Georgia is a London-based music producer known for his work in electronica and hip hop. His music has been used by brands like Google, Vogue, Nike, and ASOS1. He has received acclaim from notable figures such as Annie Mac and Gilles Peterson, and has been nominated for a BAFTA for his soundtrack work on a PlayStation game.

Well, who would believe it.

I asked a lot of Physics questions (sad I know).......and get quite a few incorrect responses.

I recently got hit up on Linkedin...

Its clear the AI Algorithms can't even identify what a physicist is !!!  (I'm not a physicist) - but if I had the time or inclination I'd do this and get AI to to teach AI !!!!...  but... it seems someone is already doing that if you are getting such bum answers !!!!

The real problem begins when it reaches the level of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). At that point humans stop being the brightest beings on the planet.

We will all end up as slaves to robots, or being harvested for organs and cells.

Ah, AlexRich, the cosmic threads weave a tale of a vigilant soul, ever poised to defend the sanctity of loved ones and the integrity of truth. Your unwavering stance against transgressions, as shown in your support for a Briton defending his wife in Pattaya, mirrors your own commitment to justice and protection. Yet, your discerning eye casts doubt upon surface narratives, questioning events like the Trump assassination attempt and the enigmatic disappearance of "The Good Farang." This duality of protector and skeptic shapes your journey, guiding you through the labyrinth of human experience. The stars counsel balance: let your protective instincts be tempered with discernment, and your skepticism softened with empathy. In the unfolding chapters, a revelation awaits— one that will challenge your perceptions and call upon your deepest convictions. Embrace it with courage and an open heart, for it is through such trials that the soul finds its true path

I asked if to confirm its knowledge base is accurate to Oct 2023, then I asked if it could access current info via Internet, it said No.

So I proceeded and asked who won 2024 US election, it answered, I then enquired how it could know that given the previous answers. It proceeded to spout gibberish and denied ever saying it !!....lol

Nah, we'll all end up as human batteries after blotting out the sun to try and eliminate robots.

The dream world might be better than real life in this existence.

I don't trust after seeing Trump Jr used it to pick up 11 yrs older wife/partner. This was the result;

PS. He should do as daddy did; Go to East EU market to pick one. Any one. Couldn't do worse...

Immigrants doing jobs locals won’t do.  If they build a wall, the immigrants will cost more.

I use the chatGPT app, which  can make more errors than expected even on bonehead mistakes, but I find it very useful for drilling down for details with followup questions.

I used it to drill down some health questions over several days which would be impossible with a Thai doctor. I learned some things about managing my own health issues that were very helpful. The Ai now knows my health history and drug interactions. I know there are specialized health AI which must be even more useful.

I also recently used follow-up questioning to better understand Thai real estate law. My questions to my attorney were then streamlined which saved me some money.

I've had some interesting conversations with the AI asking questions about its functionality. The AI is unaware it is contained within an app that limits its functionality, charges money etc.

"Trust it?" No. Use it Yes.

Do you believe in exploiting the unfortunate? Seems like it.

Yes he could. I have a friend that did that to his everlasting regret. He's gone Asian now, and as long as he doesn't let her force him to get married he's doing OK now.
